Review: On November 20, 2013, I saw an advertisement on [redacted] for 8 boxes of [redacted] Rags in a Box w/ Handle, 10"x13", 200 Towels/BX, White for $13.97 + $5.99 s/h from Hardware And Tools. This was a great deal, so I jumped on it and bought them. However, since I have had problems with third party vendors on these sites before I printed the page and kept checking the link in my email to make sure that it went to the same page each time which it did until two days later when it suddenly went to a different page which showed only one box for that price. I contacted the company and asked them about this change and just as I anticipated they denied that there had been any changes. I informed them that I had printed the page the way it looked when I bought the items and that I would be contacting [redacted] about the false advertising which I have.

Later, I received a message from the VP/General Manager stating that they had changed the page and that it wasn’t their intention to tell people they were sending them eight and only send them one. He offered to have me send back the one and they would do a return and he informed me that if I went ahead with a complaint with [redacted] that it would show that he tried to resolve the issue, but I refused. I told him that was fine if they made a mistake, but that other companies do that all the time and they have to abide by what’s advertised until they make the correction. In other words if you make the correction to the advertisement and then make good on all the sales of those who purchased the product at a reduced cost or in bulk as in this case then all is good. By doing what you are doing is false advertising because you are not following through with what you advertised and what I purchased.

I have not heard anything more from the company in over a week nor have I received the rest of the order. So, therefore I am filing this complaint.Desired Settlement: Delivery of the other 7 boxes of [redacted] Rags in a Box w/ Handle, 10"x13", 200 Towels/BX, White

The buyer appears to have purchased thru [redacted] site, which we did have the product listed there. There were options available thru that product page that allows the buyer to buy in individual box quantities or (8) boxes at a time. There were 2 tabs shown on the landing page for this particular item and it appears that the buyer placed (1) box in his cart and then clicked the (8) box tab and took a snapshot of that page to make it look as if we were offering 8 boxes for the price of 1. The product in the cart would not have shown total pricing until the actual purchase or next step. It is my belief the buyer is the one trying to defraud us with these tactics. At this time I would like to just close the complaint by offering full credit and he can keep the 1 box he received at no charge.

These note that we offered to send a pre-paid shipping label to have the product sent back to us and we were willing to offer full credit.

I am rejecting this response because: I do not take the use of the term "fraud" lightly! I have attached the printout of the pages of the advertisement that I ordered that day for Revdex.com to judge for themselves as well as the changed page two days later. As you can clearly see, the item package quantity states 8 and if you scroll down and look under technical details next to size, it states 8-pack. Now, I have been ordering bulk off [redacted] for quite some time and when it states 8-pack and you order a quantity of 1 you get 8. That's what 8-pack means, otherwise if I say 8 I wind up with 64. I'd be careful what words you throw around for defamation of character.

I am rejecting this response because: I'm not sure where the confusion is. I'm sorry if someone messed up putting in the information into [redacted]'s site if that's what happened, but the fact is that what I selected and ordered was an 8-pack of Rags In A Box, w/ Handle, 10"x13", 200 Towels/BX, White for $13.97 + $5.99 s/h as it states in the attached PDF. This is the first time I've gone to this extreme, but that's only because of the way you and your business handled it. First by lying about the change to the advertisement, then by telling me that if I didn't accept your offer to return the product that it would show [redacted] that I refused to settle the issue fairly, then saying that I'm trying to defraud you, but you'll forget the whole thing and refund my money if I drop it. It looks like onward and upward.
