I am rejecting this response because:Re: tucking carpet where it was taken out, transitionsI would expect that the transition from the wood floor to the adjoining carpet would be part of the finished project rather than leaving a raw edgeBefore starting this project and signing the contract, I asked if you were going to put in transitions and you said yesI expected one to the adjoining linoleum floor and one to the carpetAfter seeing the nails left behind in the transitions to the adjoining wood floors, I e-mailed your company asking if you could, in addition, put transitions there to cover the nails and asked what it would costYour employees did eventually come out and put one inThe style and color did not match the other transitions or the color of stain of the wood floorsI contacted your company in regards to this, no response.Re: dustThe only door that was left open was the one your employees left open when coming in and out of the front door, but this was not your average dustTwo professional cleaning companies came out and looked at the mess left behind after the sandingI have written statements stating that they found "an excessive amount of wood dust"I had a company clean my living room for $since I did not have the equipment to clean carpet or cloth furnitureYes, you sent a check for $340 nearly weeks later (possibly because of the pictures I e-mailed the company of the wood dust)I did not ask to get reimbursed for all of the hours I spent cleaning the rest of the house or the possible health hazard. I asked your workers after the carpet was pulled if they were going to fill in the nail holes left behind from pulling up the carpetThey said yesThat was not done so the nail holes are obvious; thereby, possibly decreasing the value of my home rather than improving the value.Hardwood Floor Comay be great at putting in new wood floors, but I would never recommend them to refinish a wood floor, a very bad experience for meI would have hoped they would have taken a little more pride in their work

I am responding to the complaint filed against me and my business regarding the refinishing of *** ***'s existing wood floor. The first day I started this job she was upset that we weren't going to re-ruck carpetWe are not carpet guys and it's not normally part of my refinish work but I
installed two transitions, one to the bathroom and one to the living room and re-tucked her carpet at no chargeWhich was not part of my contractual agreement but because she was upset I felt I should do itWhen she called with her concern about the dust, I went and looked at her house the very next dayThere were areas of dust in her dining and living rooms that were dustier then the areas right next to the hall where we were workingI reminded her that the day we started her job she had all her windows and doors open and I remember as I drove away mid-day that there was a huge dust storm blowing through downtownShe still insisted it was our fault so I told her to contact the cleaning people and I would take care of itWhen she came in to make her final payment she gave us a cleaning bill for $which she was reimbursed for on November 6thThe check cleared our bank on November 13th. Just to give you some information on the machine we use in the refinishing process, I have a brand new state of the art dust containment system with dual HEPA filters so I don't feel the dust was ours but I was trying to keep her happy and still paid her cleaning billAfter that she called and wanted transition strips made and installed in the other two doorways now to cover nail holesIn older homes there are nail holes everywhere there was a tack strip from carpet being installedAgain I did not contract to do that but I made two more transitions, stained and finished them, I sent out a crew out to install them and unfortunately one was cut too short so I was going to have to make another oneTwo days later before I could get back to put the fourth "free" transition strip in she went on my company's Facebook page and left a horrible review taking my star rating down to a ratingAt that point I decided I was done with her. I went above and beyond to try to please herI kept an open line of communication with her and every time she wanted something I did my best to do it even though I was not contractually obligated to just to keep her happyHer job was square feet and the total cost was $1,I reimbursed her $to have her house cleaned, fabricated and installed three transitions (when I typically charge $a piece for them) and re-tucked her carpet all at no charge, When she decided to give me a bad review on my Facebook page I came to the conclusion that I just can't make her happy. Respectfully, *** ***Owner
