May 17th 2017. I had *** Harlan Roofinhg Company Lic# *** Repair the leak, and dry rot on the back corner over hang on my house. they did a poor job. First bad winter storm I had a leak on same corner each storm. They put a different facial board on the overhang. About 12 ft of a rough different wood than my previous facial board that doesn't match mine. Cut it short, and left a gap when meets side facial board, and took a chunk out of the side over hang that meets the back facial board on the bottom. A big gauge on end.
I called them when I discovered the leak and months later, a man from the company came, looked made sure my drain, and gutter clear. Flushed with water and all was OK!
Didn't explain, just said do not call us we will call you!
3 months ago I called their office! Left message still had leak! Waited and called again 2 wks ago- same. No one in office. Left message again.
No one has contacted me as what they are going to do, or when. Or about the leak, and the problem wit the different facial board since my again 3 weeks ago.
I paid them $1,991.00 for the job!
I am 93 yrs old and don't need the stress or worry. I will have dry rot on both side, and back overhang facial board eventually if not taken care of.
They did not paint! I hired a painter to paint the repair work.
I received an email with regard to a complaint filed. This is the first we are aware of it. We did perform work for Ms. and repaired a number of different areas. We expressed in our original quote we only provide pre-primed lumber and do not paint. It is homeowners responsibility to hire a painter when work was completed. We also recommended having the corner where the rave fascia and barge fascia meet caulked and painted. The client seems to have difficulty recalling details of phone calls and multiple visits from 3 different staff explaining the same details. We performed water tests to show her the roof is not leaking but due to the design of her roof and type of tile/ way the tile was installed water pours over the edge of the tile trim and drips at the bottom of the gable corner. This has to do with the original roof design and tile layout when the home was built. It can only be corrected by reinstalling all the time. If it was something repairable we would very happily do so. However, we were hired to replace the dry-rot and did so. It is not a defect in replacement of the barge rafter/ fascia that is causing the issue. We understand this is difficult to understand but have main multiple visits and efforts to explain. We do not appear to have received any messages since our last site visit so this complaint is a surprise to us.
The Harlan Roofing Co have no intention of honoring their warranty on their work from the response of their last letter!
Mr. has not checked his workers work that I know of!
2 men- one the gutters only last worker to take pictureswith camera phone! no explanations!
Friday, were supposed to take vidios in the frequent rain to check for leak no show!
The corner looks bad, and I will eventually have dry rot on that corner!
It is where the facial boards meet and the spaces left between back facial board, and side board-
They took a chunk out of the bottom of side facial board to make it match the back one.
They had cracked this areaand the rain has made it gummy looking!
No primmer before painting!
