We received a phone call from [redacted] to give her a price on a granite countertop only(there was no mention of a shower at that time) She provided me with rough measurements, I received an estimate back, called her with the price of the granite and she stated that she may just want to do laminate, and that she was considering a tile backsplash I scheduled an appointment and met with her to get accurate dimensions in her home on July 20th at a.mMr [redacted] was not presentUpon arrival, we discussed what she could expect from removing the countertop, how it affected her cabinets, floor etcand educated her of the order in which she approaches a project She was very sensitive to her budget and I reassured her that we could investigate her options She expressed her dismay that she had reached out to other Kitchen and Bath showrooms and nobody wanted the job, it was too small I explained to Mrs [redacted] that most Kitchen and Bath showrooms are not structured for jobs of her size, mainly due to the fact that it is very difficult to pull the trades off of an ongoing jobher job consists of multiple trips for spurts of timeI expressed that she may be better served going direct to the fabricator as it would be less money, I offered a number to the fabricatorI explained that by going thru me she would be paying a premium for managing the project I also expressed with full disclosure that we were booked solid into the fall, not providing any specific dates(Unfortunately my estimate of time was inaccurate) At that time she discussed possibly redoing the shower only of her guest bath and shower only of the master bath but making it bigger I reviewed with her the fact that it was a slab floor and the drain may need to be moved which adds costs in busting up the floor to move the drain, As I discussed approximate costs of that, she was hesitant, but I had reassured her that her actual selections of the material would vary the costs She understood and agreed to wait I welcomed her to call me if we were getting too far outThis is a project better suited for a “HandyMan”, but she seemed frustrated and I genuinely wanted to help her with her projectI could not have been more honest with her on all counts, I had not provided a specific date, I provided a price on the countertop before I walked thru the doorI welcomed her to call me if we got too far outIt’s unfortunate that they feel this way, as that was not my intention

laminate, and that she was considering a tile backsplash.  I scheduled an appointment and met with her to get accurate dimensions in her home on July 20th at 9 a.m. Mr. [redacted] was not present. Upon arrival, we discussed what she could expect from removing the countertop, how it affected her cabinets, floor etc. and educated her of the order in which she approaches a project.  She was very sensitive to her budget and I reassured her that we could investigate her options.  She expressed her dismay that she had reached out to other Kitchen and Bath showrooms and nobody wanted the job, it was too small.  I explained to Mrs. [redacted] that most Kitchen and Bath showrooms are not structured for jobs of her size, mainly due to the fact that it is very difficult to pull the trades off of an ongoing job... her job consists of multiple trips for spurts of time. I expressed that she may be better served going direct to the fabricator as it would be less money, I offered a number to the fabricator. I explained that by going thru me she would be paying a premium for managing the project.  I also expressed with full disclosure that we were booked solid into the fall, not providing any specific dates. (Unfortunately my estimate of time was inaccurate) At that time she discussed possibly redoing the shower only of her guest bath and shower only of the master bath but making it bigger.  I reviewed with her the fact that it was a slab floor and the drain may need to be moved which adds costs in busting up the floor to move the drain,  As I discussed approximate costs of that, she was hesitant, but I had reassured her that her actual selections of the material would vary the costs.  She understood and agreed to wait.   I welcomed her to call me if we were getting too far out. This is a project better suited for a “HandyMan”, but she seemed frustrated and I genuinely wanted to help her with her project. I could not have been more honest with her on all counts, I had not provided a specific date, I provided a price on the countertop before I walked thru the door. I welcomed her to call me if we got too far out. It’s unfortunate that they feel this way, as that was not my intention.
