Initial Business Response /* (1000, 5, 2016/03/15) */

As for the permit being issued, it has happened several times to us that it is not being issued. I believe that after several times of this happing...

to us we have figured it out. Permits are done over the Internet. Then we have to call in and pay, we do believe that by not calling in right away and paying our permits get lost. As to the inspector, I did say that different inspector call different things as to the way they see it. We were call on a old p-trap for a tub that we did not touch. We did correct the venting issue. I did go over the bill with [redacted] and explained everthing, I believe the 1.5 hr lunch was including picking up some parts. We do not stock everthing. [redacted] believed that the price should have came in at the low end and the job was more entailed[redacted] The inspector did pass all the work we did. As to rebooking, things happen on both ends some time. If mr [redacted] was unhappy he could have stopped the work at any time and ask question. Thanks Roy
Initial Consumer Rebuttal /* (3000, 7, 2016/03/18) */
(The consumer indicated he/she DID NOT accept the response from the business.)
We do not accept the response for the following reasons:
Re: the permit - the issue was not due to the length of time it took to obtain alone but compounded by the fact that Harmcor was not going to pull a permit after it was discussed during the first meeting (the original quote).
Re: the inspection - our concern with the failed inspection was due more to the response we received from Roy indicating that the inspection failed due to the inspector's mood rather than the work completed by Harmcor (e.g. not taking accountability for their work).
o Re: the old p-trap - we had asked at the first meeting (original quote) for all of our old plumbing to be replaced and updated; the plumbers completing the job chose not to do so with this p-trap. We had assumed it was part of the original quote, but upon the first failed inspection and needing it fixed before passing, we ended up paying additional for this service.
Re: the bill - our issue was that we felt that we were charged for labour (hours) for which no concrete work was being completed (e.g. during personal calls, lunch break even if just 30 mins). When discussing the bill, Roy did not provide more of an explanation other than stating the bill was comprised of "parts and labour;" when asked for further detail, the answers remained vague (e.g. it's parts, it's labour). Furthermore, at no time did anyone from Harmcor mention to us that our bill would go from $2200-$3000 to about $4600 (Roy's total prior to the discount).
2 last-minute cancellations and 2 late arrivals to get a total of 1.5 days of work completed resulted in additional missed days of work for us.
o In the instances of the late arrivals, we had to contact Harmcor repeatedly to find out what was happening (e.g. why the plumber was not on time, at what time the plumber was going to arrive e.g. scheduled for 08:00, but not arriving until 10:30).

Final Business Response /* (4000, 10, 2016/03/24) */
It had nothing to do with what I said about inspectors, I did say I have never heard about a inspector calling a old p-trap on a tub to be replaced Befor passing
As for permit. I said I did not know about permit and filled out paper work right away. If [redacted] thinks because he called and they did not have it he is wrong. Permits issues are a constant problem
As for breaks. He has not mention that they worked very late day one to finish
As for being polite and alway phoning, we did
Inspection failing, it was a small over looked thing by a employee and corrected, it happens more then he thinks with company's that's why it was inspected . We will credit his account for $250.00 toward any furture work. Thanks. Roy C[redacted]

Final Consumer Response /* (4200, 12, 2016/03/30) */
(The consumer indicated he/she DID NOT accept the response from the business.)
Given the two responses we have received from the owner so far, we do not feel that a resolution will be reached. [redacted].
