Review: Was mislead on what work actually needed done so that we would hire them. Worker was 3.5 hours late and the job done was not what we were asked to do.

We had a pest inspection on 8/28/13 and there was one area of wood rot. On 8/29/13 we were asked to remove the board for further inspection. I called the company & asked if I should hire roofers to remove this board since our tile roof is nailed into it. They informed us we could pay the minimum of $275 to have this board removed, checked and replaced. While realizing we might be overpaying we felt they were professional and would do a good job so I scheduled an appointment for 9/4/13 and was told to expect someone between 830-9am. When no one showed I called at 10. They took my name and number. At 10:15 a gentleman showed up and said he needed to get his truck and would be back in a few. At 11:30, I called again and was assured he was on his way. At 12, he showed up and got to work. I went out at 12:15 to see how things were progressing and he told me he was nearly done. I signed a contract, so I handed over my check, but was very upset to see he had only cut about 1ft of board off and was replacing it. I explained that we were told the whole board needed to come down and he told me "nope. Just this". Well seeing what was done we could have done that, but they said the board- not a portion of it. I emailed [redacted] that night explaining my irritation and their office manager replied with a "sorry for the misunderstanding, here's your invoice" email. I found the owner of the company on fb and sent her a private message on 9/6/13 and never got a reply. On 9/10/13 I located the business card and found [redacted]'s cell #, so I called and left a message. Again, no reply. I feel not only mislead on what work needed done but also this entire thing has been handled very unprofessionally. The initial inspection was great, but since then it has been a mess. I also feel as soon as they had my check in hand that their customer service stopped. I'm very disappointed and feel very taken advantage of. If the job had been done as described- an entire board removed, inspected, and replaced with a new one, there would have been no complaint- even after being 3.5 hours late. [redacted] Desired Settlement: I am willing to pay some towards the chunk of board that was replaced. I feel that $75 would cover the 30 minute job and would appreciate a refund of $200.

we spoke with [redacted] and have reached a resolution. Due to miscommunication and also our technician being late, we are issuing a reimbursent to her. All repairs were completed and after our discussion, Mrs. [redacted] has stated that she is satisfied with the resolution.

They agreed that how things were handled was not the way they should have been done and were gracious enough to reimburse us back the portion I requested. After talking with the owner I feel much better and am happy that things could be resolved so well.

Review: Consumer contracted with the company for a one time spray. The spiders came back the same day. The service didn't work.Desired Settlement: Consumer would like the company to come back and spray again at no charge.

Business' Initial Response

We explained that the day of treatment is the only day the spiders would die. We explained how to prepare before application. This was not fully done for technician. We had our technician at the property for 1 1/2 hours. Most of the time was spent de-webbing the home. This took 45 minutes. The exterior treatment was 25 minutes. We advised prunig be done to reduce spider activity. We gave Miss [redacted] 50% off because she is elderly. We know Miss [redacted] left property after interior was completed so she did not see our technician work on the outside. We understand that she has a caretaker to help her with daily functions. We spoke with the caretaker to let her know we would come out to retreat at no additional charge. I tried to set this appt. up with her and she stated that Miss [redacted] was now the only person handling this. Unfortunately Miss [redacted] is very difficult to understand. We are in the process of working this out with her.
