Harner's Appliance Service

Review: On the 15th of May I requested a service call on my microwave. They came out and told me the part would be more than the cost of a new appliance and offered to get one for me and gave me the price. I paid them with a check and have not to this day seen the microwave and I can not get anyone to return my calls. On two occasions when I did get a return call I was told that they would be out to inslall the new microwave. They acted suprsed that it was not taken care of yet. The most recent was May 31st when I was told they would be over at the end of the work day to install the new microwave. They did not show up. The next day my niece called and the man said things were very hectic and that he would send out a full refund to [redacted]. As of reporting this nothing has been returned and call go un answered. I am an elderly woman living alone and I feel as though they have tried to take advange of me and my situation. (I am filing this with my niece at her e-mail address as I do not have one.) I can be reached at my home or by this e=mail.Desired Settlement: I would like a full refund of the money paid to Harner's for a replacement microwave. I believe it should be cash as I do not believe a word they have said.

Review: Service man came to our house on July 3, 2013 and diagnosed a problem with our clothes dryer as a starter switch which needed to replaced. He indicated that the part would be ordered and he would return on three or four days to repair the dryer. We paid $212.00 by check on July 3, 2012. The check has been cashed. The repairman has not returned. We have called the following numbers to see when the serviceman will return: ###-###-####, ###-###-####, ###-###-#### and left messages three times which have not been returned. The voice mail boxes of these phone numbers are often full.Desired Settlement: We would either like the dryer repaired immediately or a full refund for work not completed.

Review: On May 24, 2013 a technician came to our home because our Kenmore washing machine stopped spinning. The technician said he could temporarily try to fix it but we needed a new transmission--the machine is not old (2010). He said he could not order the transmission unless we paid him first. He charged us $340 plus tax $23.48 or a total of $363.48. He assured us that he would call as soon as the transmission came in and that it would be installed at no additional cost. We heard nothing back from Harner's----after 4 weeks we became very concerned about the possibility of having been defrauded out of over $350. We then started calling weekly for another 4 weeks, again leaving messages to please call us back. Harner's never called us----Today, August 2nd, we drove all the way to their [redacted] address in [redacted], PA. It appears to be a residence---nobody answered our knocks. We called the buisness number from their drive-way but nobody answered. We have been defrauded out of $363.48 and want our money back.Desired Settlement: We want our $363.48 back. We had to pre-pay for a transmission upfront but it was never ordered, delivered or installed.
