The fact that AZ Exterminating did not protect our home for the 10 years they were contracted with us is not acceptable.  The damage done and what it cost us to fix said damage far exceeds the cost of the year warranty they "gave" to the buyers.  I feel embarrassed that we forced the buyers to spend another year using AZ exterminating to protect them from further termite infestation.  At this point, I understand that the business will not pay for damages to the house, so am willing to drop request to help with costs to fix house in order to sell it.  However, I would like the reporting of this incident to be available to other prospective customers who do their research first before contracting with businesses.

7/27/16
Dear Madam/Sir:
First of all, I am confused regarding this response as
Mr.  S[redacted] called me last week to
inform me that AZ Exterminating’s corporate office and asked him to confirm
with me that the total amount I am requesting. He told me that his corporate
office is cutting me a check for the amount I had paid ($2204.00) toward the
terminate treatment, maintenance contracts or 2 years and fumigation.
Relative to Mr. S[redacted]’s letter dated 6/23/2015, Mr.
S[redacted] fails to mention that on 2/7/14 the inspector from AZ Exterminating
recommended a spot treatment for dry wood termite. The service was performed on
2/11/14 without any impact on the subsequent droppings. In retrospect, this
should have given them a clue that it was not termites that was the issue. At
the time, I was of the opinion that they are the experts so I did not question
the treatment recommendations.
He also fails to mention that I noticed that the inspector
seemed unsure of whether the droppings were terminates of crickets so I even
asked him if he could bring the droppings back to his office to analyze.  His response was that given that it was under
the vent leading to the attic, it had to be termites.  As I was not feeling comfortable with this
inspector, I asked for another to be assigned to me at which time Dustin Norris
was then assigned to work with me.
Mr. S[redacted] states that I had not complained about it until
the annual inspection.  Immediately after
the treatments I vacuumed the crack thoroughly to eliminate residual droppings.
I also have my house cleaned by a house
keeper once a week who had been cleaning the window sill so I did not notice
the droppings until shortly before the inspector came.  I had no reason to doubt that the problem
wasn’t taken care of.
Additionally, he claims that he gave me free service.  None of that service was free.  I paid for two maintenance contracts; one for
subterranean termites since 20018 and one for drywood termites for a total of $360.00 per
year.  He stated in his response that the
inspector returned “assuring” me that I had crickets.  It is at this time that I was unhappy as the
dropping scatter was identical to the original and the inspector was the same
person that came on the very first visit who diagnosed the problem as drywood
termites. This is the first time that I was informed that it may be a cricket infestation.  I then asked Mr. Mueller to have someone call me regarding this
change in diagnosis.  No one called me to
discuss this.  When a second inspector Tim
called 2 months later not knowing that Mr. Mueller had already done and inspection. I asked him to come
out as I wanted a second opinion.  Please
see below.
Please note that when Mr. S[redacted] finally called me on
6/2/16,  he offered one year of free
drywood termite maintenance contract worth $200.00.
He did not offer two years on the termite and pest control as he claims.
Here is a summary of my last few contacts with the company:
2/15/16  Gary Mueller
(Inspector),  upon inspection, informs me
that the droppings are from crickets.
4/7/ 16   Tim (Second
Inspector) upon my request, came to evaluate and said it was actually termites.
5/6/16   Ruben (Treatment
Technician) Sent by Tim to treat for terminates.  After treatment, he sealed the crack inside the house
from which the droppings fell from.  The
crack was approximately 2-3mm wide which would only allow droppings to fall out
of it. This is contrary to what Mr. S[redacted] states. He stated that the cracks
were sealed to prevent crickets from entering the house.  With the crack sealed inside the house, how
would we know whether the problem was corrected or not?
5/26/16 Alonzo (Treatment Supervisor) sent out by Lee to
determine infestation determines that it is a cricket problem.  He at this time said that termite droppings
piled up in a different pattern.   The
droppings on my window sill always fell in the same pattern since day one there
was never a pile as he as with termites.
This in my opinion indicates that the infestation is from one insect;
not two as Mr. S[redacted] claims.
The discrepancy between Gary’s and Tim’s diagnosis of this
issue highlights the company’s variances in opinion.  Surprisingly, they apparently have no way of
determining whether the droppings are termites or crickets. Since termites and
crickets are not even related species, wouldn’t their waste look different? Additionally,
the droppings would probably contain different content. Please note that other
than a visual with their bare eyes, there were no other tests performed.   Shouldn’t there be a way to definitively differentiate
the droppings perhaps through magnification or a chemical test?
If they are uncertain now, I don’t see how they could be any
less confused back then.   I believe that I am entitled to a full refund
as my request did not include the major inconvenience imposed on me to remove
food, plants and animals from the premises, inclusive of moving costs
associated with the moving of the these and other appliances  as well as the  cost of having to vacate the house for the
night.
I had contacted either by email or voice 5 individuals over
several months regarding this issue without any response from management until
Mr. S[redacted] finally called to tell me that they were offering me one annual
contract for my troubles.  I feel it
would not be a wise decision to proceed with future maintenance contracts with
a company that treats their longtime customers so poorly regarding the
resolution of problems and who is unable to determine proper treatment for
pests for which they are in business for.
Thank you,
[redacted]

Complaint #[redacted]Patrick H H[redacted]The manager of the branch approved a refund giving the home owner a free year of warranty service.  The Manager of the Branch explained to the Hahns  in our contract it states we are not responsible for damage.    The Hahns transferred the...

warranty to the new home owner (Michael O[redacted]).  Mr. O[redacted] is set up as a current customer and we will continue to service his home.   Please let us know if you need any other information regarding the handling of these complaints.  We will continue to monitor our Revdex.com account and will respond to any complaints you send our way.  Thanks for your help with this.  We appreciate your help and are so glad you contacted us and gave us an opportunity to respond to these complaints.

Mr. [redacted] is correct, Eric S[redacted] has taken action to have a check issued from our Corporate Office to resolve this matter. In fact,  Mr. [redacted] may have received it by now.  The only written correspondence I have record of is from Eric S[redacted] to Mr. [redacted] on June 23.   Eric and Mr. [redacted] have spoken to each other on the phone since that June correspondence to work out a solution.  We hope to have this matter resolved soon.  Thanks, Cindy C[redacted]

To Whom it may concern, June 23,2016On April 22, 2014 our inspector performed an inspection at the home of Vance [redacted]. As a result of this inspection it was determined that Mr. [redacted] had dry wood termites and a structural fumigation was recommended and approved. The treatment was done on June 6,...

2014 and we were not contacted by Mr. [redacted], by phone or by e-mail, stating that there was a problem with the treatment or that he was continuing to have an issue. It wasn’t until our inspector went out to do the yearly warranty inspection a year later that anything was said.Mr. [redacted] stated that he still had droppings in the same area and that they continued to accumulate after the treatment. He was told by the inspector that they were excess droppings that had fallen out of the infested area. This is a common occurrence with dry wood termites. We offered and performed a liquid treatment to the beam in question at no charge to Mr. [redacted]. Once again we were never contacted by phone or e-mail by Mr. [redacted] stating that there was an issue or that droppings were still falling from the beam.On February 15, 2016 our inspector returned to do the annual warranty renewal inspection, Mr. [redacted] showed him some droppings and these were identified as cricket droppings and we scheduled a chemical treatment at no charge to accommodate him. When the technician arrived to do the service he told Mr. [redacted] that they were indeed dry wood termite droppings. The inspector returned to the residence and once again assured Mr. [redacted] that they were cricket droppings, we returned to Mr. [redacted]’s house and did a liquid treatment and sealed some gaps to prevent crickets from entering his house, again at no charge to Mr. [redacted]. I understand how this back and forth about what the problem was is very confusing and frustrating to Mr. [redacted] and for that we are truly sorry. It is most likely that we were dealing with two separate issues, first the termites and then the crickets, and we have responded to all of the requests. I personally spoke to Mr. [redacted] on June 5, 2016 and offered him 2 years free warranty inspections and 2 years free pest control. This totals about $2000 of free services and he stated he was not interested. With the lack of contact by Mr. [redacted] for two years, and all of the free services we have performed, and the offer we have made, we feel that we have been very fair in our treatment of Mr. [redacted].Sincerely,Eric S[redacted]Operations ManagerArizona Exterminating
