Review: I am a subscriber to Harper's Magazine. In September 2013 I received an offer for 24 issues at $24. I filled out the form accepting the offer. My subscription was set to expire on March **, 2014. In early February 2014 I received a letter from Harper's Magazine threatening my credit if I did not pay the invoice for $24. I scanned the notice and forwarded it to [redacted] at [redacted]. [redacted] explained it was not a real collection letter. I questioned the integrity of an organization that would threaten someone's credit for not paying a bill early. Her responses were repeatedly telling me my account was not referred to a collection agency, but she would not explain the practice. My last email to her on Today I received what looks like a collection letter from North Shore Agency, [redacted] acct [redacted]. The letter states if we pay the bill the collection process will be stopped. We no longer receive the magazine subscription.Desired Settlement: I would like the collection notices to stop and Harper's Magazine to change this tabloid journalism-like practice.

At this time, I have been contacted directly by Harper's Magazine Foundation regarding complaint ID [redacted], however my complaint has NOT been resolved because:
Harper's Magazine canceled the collection effort. However, they never responded to why they were threatening to compromise my credit months before the payment was due.

At this time, I have been contacted directly by Harper's Magazine Foundation regarding complaint ID [redacted], however my complaint has NOT been resolved because:
They never explained why they were threatening to compromise my credit by stating they would send me to a collection agency before my subscription expired. The only response they would provide was they were willing to cancel my subscription. They then did not explain nor cancel and did send me to a collection agency.
