The [redacted] Kia Optima was brought in on April 7th for a power steering leakWe inspected and found the power steering return line leakingThat was then replaced and the leaking fluid cleaned offThe cleaning off of the power steering fluid got the engine wetWhich this during cleaningWe did not leave the hood open during a stormThis is the first I'm hearing of thisEvery employee checks windows and hood and doors if it starts to rain.The customer complained that the car was running bad and brought it back on April 0th and we scanned it and found it had a missed fireWe informed them that it may have a bad coilThe coils are not destroyed or the car would not run at allThey get wet when cleaning it and a coil can miss fire if moisture gets in it, which it shouldn't they are sealedOnce the coil dried out it ran fineThey were informed that if it happens when it rains the coil will need to be replacedWe did not charge them for the diagnosticsWe explained that to them and they left.The car was brought back several times complaining of a power steering leakEach time we looked at it informing them that the pressure switch was leakingThe switch is located in the power steering pump not the line that was replaced and that we would charge them for that repairThey felt that we damage it during the repairWe informed them that the switch doesn't have to be removed to repair the car and that they would have to pay for the additional repairThe power steering system has more parts than what we replaced and the only covered item is what was replacedThis is the same for any repair we doIf we had felt our employee caused it we would have been more than willing to replace it for freeSince it was not removed during the repair we declined to fix it for freeOther leaks can occur in the system even after fixing oneThis works the same way with oil leaksWe did however look at and fill the power steering fluid for free when they stopped in with the concern each timeWe tried each time to explain the situation but they just wanted us to fix it for free.As for ASE certified tech concern every employee is not ASE certified we have ASE certified employees being technicians that over see the employees that are notOne being myselfCurrently of our employees are in the process of getting ASE certifiedMy certification is available to see but was just asked about not requested.We would be glad to fix the car for the part and labor priceWe will not refund the repair that has already been donThat was agreed upon before any work began.The car was brought back several times complaining of a power steering leakEach time
