Harriman Auto Transmissions, Inc. Reviews (2)

Ok long and short of it-- I have been going to Harriman Auto for about 4-years, never thrilled but no real issues to speak of, until the last visits that isI know your asking why did it take visits, just naive I guess or really bad judgementThere is one good thing, at least you can benefit from the unbelievable experiences I have hadYou might think I am just another customer complaining, but if you take the time to read many of the star reviews below, you will certainly have to question going to this placeI wish I would have seen those reviews :(
Harriman Auto has shown me their true colors--Greg
The fact that I have to take time to alert others of the horrible experience I have had should serve as a red flag for everyoneDo not bring your vehicle to this shady, non professional placeI am curious to know how many people have gone to pick up their car and can't leave because it will not startI must be super lucky as that is what happened to me on my last serviceOne would think I was getting some serious repairs, nope, just getting an oil change/inspection/batteryI understand things happen, but I should have known from the prior two times I had brought my jeep in for service/inspectionThe first inspection the engine light was on due to a gas cap codeAfter several days I was told everything was ready and the vehicle passedWell soon after pulling out the light was back onI didn't even second guess it, I chalked it up to being part of the incompetent service I just hadI also don't care because I have a whole year before I have to deal with that againOk, fast forward to the next yearBring in the jeep again for an inspection with the engine light on due to gas code capSeveral days later I am told all set, I pull out and low and behold the light comes onCan't make this stuff upAhh! but what happens next is the straw that breaks the camels backUpon my last visit, just a week ago around 8/**/2016, I bring in my other car for routine stuff-- inspection/oil change and new batteryA day or two go by and I get the call that the vehicle is all setI arrive make my payments as a good loyal customer does, I am excited to enjoy that new serviced car feeling :) Ahhh, but wait!!! the car will not startAlrighty -- off to the luxurious waiting room with lots of reading materialsQuite awhile later I am told we can't figure it out and we will call you MondayMonday call comes along with another $receiptI am told this is the amount and it has already been discountedI am not sure where the discount is as the receipt does not indicate any of this-- mmmm Things get better, for them that isSince I am no longer smiling and start to express my concerns with all of this over the phone, I am told I must authorize my cc payment with an email to themNever had this before, but ok, I sent the email along with the fact that I was disputing all of thisMy vehicle was now a prisoner until I paid the ransomI get another call saying we can't process the cc, they are getting an errorI checked with the bank and they advise that the shop is entering a bad expiration dateThe shop then tells me they will only accept cash, I am now a delinquent customer, I was a bit taken back-- I was now anticipating them to tell me to come into the back when picking up the car, that is where they could finish the jobI will leave you with this, there is a sign in the waiting area that says "we aim to please, if we please you tell your friends, if we don't tell us" -- wow that is pretty convenientAhh but I have had enough, so I am sharing this with all of my friends and not just themI hope they are pleased with themselves

Review: My husband was on his way to the train station on 1/**/2015 at 4:30AM when he had a tire blow out. He managed to coast to a stop in front of this repair shop. He parked in front (careful not to block the entrance) since it was snowing and he could not get on to the property. He wrote a note explaining the situation, along with his phone number and left the door unlocked with the keys under the note. I picked him up and took him to the train. I observed the car and checked where it was park as well. Shortly after 8 AM, my husband received a phone call from the mechanic stating the keys were not there and they had to tow the car into the lot and it would cost $100.00 and that the police had told them it was sticking out into the street.. I called the police and they have no record of the police being involved in any conversation with this garage. Miraculously they found the keys on the dash board where we left them after they towed the car so they reduced fee to $50.00(After much conversation) They also charged $90 to put the spare tire on so we could drive the car home.Desired Settlement: Of course I would love a refund but more then that I would like to see a business like that be publicly sited for misconduct.

I truly feel that this was a con job and I can't understand people being dishonest.
