Harrington put my account into collections without proper notification. They did not share my address with their billing.I received services from Harrington in 2012. I recently received my yearly credit report and found that Harrington had put my account in collections. I called them regarding this and spoke to [redacted] who said the bill their billing company had sent me had been returned. I asked what address they had and she had the correct address. However, their billing company had my previous address. Because Harrington did not share my updated information with their billing company I did not receive the bill and was put into collections.Desired SettlementI have sent the payment to Harrington. The account went to our Self Pay vendor on [redacted] An itemized statement was sent to patient on [redacted] On [redacted] they called patient and patient stated "she was unaware of the balance, stated she will look through her things and if she finds the EOB (explanation of benefits) she will pay it". A credit from another account of hers of $20.00 was transferred into this account on [redacted] second collection notice[redacted] third collection noticeAccount closed with Self Pay vendor on [redacted]Account placed with Bad Debt vendor on [redacted]Address was updated on 09/19/13 at the hospital on this account after the bad debt agency had discovered it first on their end on [redacted]Please refer to other letter as to what transpired with that Bad Debt agency (below).From the Bad Debt vendor:According to our notes we had the address of [redacted] apt [redacted] XXXXX when it first came to ROI as a bad debt account; On [redacted] our first statement was sent. Our letter vendor found a new address of [redacted] XXXXX on [redacted] The statement was then forwarded to that address. She got our statement because we received an inbound call from her on [redacted] At that point she knew it was collections and was disputing the balance stating she had made a payment. We checked your system which showed a balance of $100 at the time, and we saw no credit balances on your system. We attempted to call her back and found that the tel# was invalid. It was then reported to the credit bureau on [redacted] We then skiptraced for a new tel# and we found XXX-XXX-XXXX but when we tried we were advised it was a wrong tel#. The account was closed back to hospital as uncollectable on [redacted] and it was removed from the credit bureau after we closed it, in our next file to the bureau in [redacted] Notified by**arrington**ospital that they are advised that patient still showed with the credit bureau. Compliance department pulled a record today of all accounts currently being reported to the credit bureau by MBROI and patient not listed as active with the credit bureau.Hospital also notified us that patient's $100 balance was paid in [redacted]Consumer Response (The consumer indicated he/she DID NOT accept the response from the business.)I moved to [redacted] in [redacted] of [redacted]arrington was notified shortly thereafter as my physicians were still there and I continued to have my lab work, tests, etc. there. The dates in the above statement as to when I notified**arrington are incorrect. They were notified of my new address prior to [redacted] I did receive a statement in [redacted] of [redacted] and paid the amount that was owed. **owever, when I called [redacted] about this account she said it was a different account, not the same as the [redacted] statement. I was not properly notified of this balance. The account I received a bill for in [redacted] was account #**XXXXXXXXXXX, date of service [redacted] I paid that bill upon receipt.According to [redacted] this bill, was for account #**XXXXXXXX, date of service [redacted] I did not receive proper notice. I moved in March of 2013. **arrington failed to notify their collection agency of the new address. [redacted] stated so on the phone.To resolve this I would like a letter from**arrington stating that my account is paid in full and that they will be removing the collection from my credit report. I would then like proof that they have removed this charge from my credit report by receiving a copy of the notice they sent to their collections agency asking them to remove the charge.Thank you.Final Business Response The above referenced accounts have been paid in full. Additional [redacted] has sent me the confirmation from Transunion that the account has been removed please see attachment. I hope this letter and attachment finally resolves this matter.
