can use the time she states that she has completed. Without the specific documentation requested, we are unable to cover her under a contract between the school and site and unable to cover her under the school's liability Insurance. She has told me on several occasions that she has the documentation and will fax it to me but I have not received it from her.
Ms. Hayes completed the didactic portion of her program but had not completed the externship. We are required to withdraw any student who has not posted attendance within a specific time frame, including externship time. As [redacted]s had not provided the documentation necessary to cover her under an Extemship Contract, we were not able to post attendance for her. We have repeatedly requested the documentation and have gjven and e-mailed the documents to her multiple times. In addition, we have reached out to the site she states that she had been working through, on her behalf, and received the response from the site coordinator that they had no record of [redacted]s participating in an externship with them.
She states in her letter that she received a grant which was then taken away by the school. This statement is inaccurate. Harris School of Business operates under the Federal Trtle IV program and is therefore required to follow all of its processes to maintain compliance within the program. [redacted]s had listed incorrect information in her FAFSA which, upon verification, changed her eligibility and thusly her grant award. The school has worked with [redacted]s repeatedly offering her a zero-rnterest payment plan option for any balance not covered by her Financial Aid award which she has repeatedly signed and approved.
We have reached out to [redacted]s again in an attempt to assist her in re-entry to her program and completion of her externship.

Review: I started at Harris School of Business in the year 2012 . I wanted to go there and find a new career path that I would like to enjoy.I received a pell grant which basically help out a lot so I didn't have to pay back till 6months after graduation.I was then almost a month in school and they decide to take the grant from me which meant I had to find ways to payback out of pocket which I didn't have.Just to make a long story short I did graduate in June 2013 but here is the funny thing the school tells me that my whole class wasn't really suppose to graduate which shows me lack of respect for students and being legit on important events under the school name.I honestly do not agree with what and how they handle legal documents regarding externship and helping students pay less while in school.Especially if I'm coming from Millsboro Delaware.Thank you for your time please call for more details.Desired Settlement: $300.00 all in full I want any other expenses I paid back and I want a trial for all legal documents from the school if there is none available to me.

I have received your letter advising me of [redacted]s's concerns regarding her program and status. I have personally attempted to assist [redacted]s multiple times with the completion of her program. It has been requested that she fax or bring in documentation regarding her externship site so that we can use the time she states that she has completed.

Review: I attended this program from 01/2014- 04/2014. There was information that I as well as other students were unaware of when entering this program. I was unaware that we needed shot records and physicals until an instructor showed up in class one day with physical forms. This is something that should stated when you initially meet with someone about the program. I was originally told that my program would take 11 months. When I returned to sign my financial aid papers I was then told that I would have to attend the program for 20 months. I was never told that the program did not offer and evening externship which I would need because I work a full time day job. I did not receive any paperwork other than my financial aid paperwork showing my award and repayment plan. I was sent home with an informational DVD that was a year or two old. When I addressed this issue I was told that was all they had. Why would you send your potential students home with outdated information. I was told that class would be Tuesday,Wednesday and Thursday from 6-10. When we did finally get a schedule which was not in a timely manner there were some classes that required attendance Monday-Thursday. There were many things that the students were misinformed about or not informed of at all. Once class started it seemed to be a common practice that grades were not turned in on time. Report cards were not issued on time and that you regularly started class without a book. You didn't receive your identification cards in a timely manner either or they were lost and needed to be retaken. We changed instructors 4 times within the short time that I attended this facility. Whenever we asked about when we would receive our books no one seemed to know. How can you charge someone $17500.00 and not have their materials to them when class starts? Each class lasted about 5 weeks so if we do not have a book for 2 weeks then we have to cram 5 weeks worth of information into 3 weeks because the facility was not prepared. That seems to be a bit unorganized and unprofessional. We end up taking quizzes based off of worksheets instead of the books that we are paying for. This just didn't happen once but twice while I was there. As I stated before we had 4 different instructors while I was there which caused some confusion with grades and attendance. The attendance sheets were misplaced when instructors changed along with the material sheet that had to be signed each time we were issued something new. There were student cursing and carrying on in and disrespecting the teacher in class with out any type of disciplinary action. These issues were enough for me to leave the school. No one pays that type of money to have to go through these issues especially from a professional establishment. It seems the right hand does not know what the left hand is doing. Not to mention that at least 11-12 of my classmates have also left the program feeling disappointed in the lack of professionalism and organization displayed by this school. The student council for the night class was even a disappointment. I joined and we had one meeting after that we couldn't even have another meeting as there was no one available to conduct the meeting or anyone to turn the budget into for activities. Once I withdrew I was hit with a bill for a little over$4200.00. I do know that they had to refund all of my student loans and they only returned a portion of my Federal Aid so where does $4200.00 come from. They told me that I am responsible for 45% of my tuition because my attendance was between 15-18 %. I do not feel as though that is justified. I am responsible for almost 50% of tuition by attending 2 1/2 moths of a 20 month program. If you have 30 days to leave the school with out paying how is it if you stay an additional 45 days such as I did I'm responsible for all of this money. If this school put as much effort into getting the students their grades and materials on time as they do in billing us maybe myself and other student would of finished the program. I have yet to receive my report card that was to be issued in April. I have spoken to the corporate office about this issue and was told to email the ombudsman. I emailed the ombudsman with no response at all. I visited the school to see about my report card and was told that it would be mailed to my home. It is now June and I still have not received my grades. Someone contacted me from the school and asked if I needed anything and I replied I would like my report card and I have yet to receive it. This school should be under review.Desired Settlement: I would like a copy of all the paperwork that I signed. I would like my long overdue report card. I want a billing adjustment. I do not feel as though this $4200.00 for 2 /12 month of school is justified. I didn't even receive $4200.00 worth of materials while I was there. Had the school been a little more professional and organized then I would of never left. There are too many issues that need to be addressed if they are going to continue to charge $17500.00. You can go to a college and get a degree for less than that.

Review: I went to Harris School of Business when it was still considered Star Tech. I was the last class to be in the merge process of the two schools. This was 7 years ago. After finishing all the required classes, I was unable to complete the next step of doing the "externship" because I owed the school money. Due to unforeseen circumstances, I was unable to pay this balance in full and set up a payment plan with the corporate headquarters. I was told that after the balance was paid, I would then be able to go on "externship" which was the FINAL step in getting my certificate and starting my career as a medical biller and coder. WRONG. After having to update my card with corporate (mine had expired and I was enrolled in auto pay monthly) I spoke to someone in regards to what the final balance was and when I could sign up for externship. They placed me on hold and came back a few minutes later saying that they no longer can offer me an externship because I was not an official Harris School of Business student. I was shocked! Angry for sure! I could not believe what I was hearing. SO you are telling me that I still owe you $15,000 for a certificate program that I am now unable to complete? What was this nonsense. This had to be a mistake. I spoke to multiple people, I've had multiple meetings with the local campus director, all of which have been unsuccessful at helping me solve this problem. The director at the Dover campus had a GREAT idea one day, a day that I had to request off work to meet with her, she said well I think I can solve this. How about you retake ALL classes (about 9 months of work that I have a completed transcript to prove that I've already done.) and you can also repay for everything. I was FURIOUS. Who did this women think she was? A total of almost $30,000 for a CERTIFICATE program??? We finally came to an agreement that she would review my transcripts, see which classes she would be able to accept towards the degree that they are offering now and if I had to take a few classes, they would be covered at NO cost to me. I thought, well... I don't really have time to take classes with working 2 jobs and being a full time mom but I thought if this would fix things and get me on my way to the happy ending that all my classmates had celebrated so many years ago, I would do it. That conversation was a YEAR ago. I have not heard back from the director. She will not return my calls. I do not know where to go from here with this matter. I can only defer my student loans for long. I just want my certificate that I worked so hard for. I have now been WORKING as a medical biller/coder for 4 YEARS. I think 4 years trumps the 80 hour externship that was required to complete the program.Desired Settlement: I would like them to issue me my certificate. I refuse to pay on my student loans until I have it. I have waited 7 YEARS for this.
