*** *** attended Harris School of Business in 2006-in the Professional Medical Assistant program. The school was, and still is accredited by ACICS. At no time was the claim ever made that programmatic accreditation through CAAHEP or ABHES existed for the Professional Medical
Assistant program. Attached is the school catalog from 2006.Our records indicate that *** *** did not complete her externship and thusly is not a graduate of the Professional Medical Assistant program at Harris School of Business. Please feel free to reach out to me with any further questions that you may have. Erika W***Regional Vice President of Operations***

Review: I had signed up to go to school for a certified medical assistant program. They assured me it was a certification site and I would be able to work in a clinical setting.Immediately after graduation I went in to ask about signing up for my certification test they had told me they haven't been a certification site for months and that I had only completed a professional medical assistant program and no longer qualified to be a cma. After checking with several different companies who provide certifications I was informed by all them I would not be able to be registered or certified. I was also informed I would not be able to work in a clinical setting and my program left me with the ability to only work in a clerical setting. During my program we also went through several teachers and at one point not even having one. After trying for a few years to at least get registered I still can not and will not be able to get register for another year and a half. Harris school of business still refuses to send my official transcripts and I still can't work in the field I was originally told I could work in. I feel as though I was mislead and the program was falsely advertised.Desired Settlement: I would like to be to be certified I cannot move up in my field without one. I would like to be refunded so I can attend a program that will certify me.

Review: The Harris School of Business falsified records from 2004-2005, and then 2005-2006 stating that I attended their school facility, when in fact I have never even heard of this business. My current college notified me as well as [redacted] through email as well as mail sent through the postal service that I am almost out of financial aid. I contacted the [redacted] System assistance number after reviewing my [redacted] history, and Harris School of Business charged the federal government $4050.00 in [redacted]s for me attending the school for two years, which I did not happen considering I was working full time, and had been pregnant during those years. I had also been on State Assistance at the time, and in the [redacted], all which can be verified. I was living in [redacted] County. I was also in a domestic violence program.Desired Settlement: I would like my [redacted] amount refunded, or I will file a lawsuit.

Response:

Good morning,

Please see email below. [redacted] did attend school back in 2004-05 and 2005-06. The school was named [redacted] Institute at that time. Harris School of Business took over [redacted] Institute in September 2008 and the name change to Harris School of Business. All the old records from [redacted] Institute show up on the [redacted] Database under Harris School of Business. [redacted] did review the records and confirmed that she did attend [redacted]l Institute.

Please let me know if you need additional information.

Review: Where in the world does this school get a business license? Based upon my experience and judgement: The professors, directors and staff are not qualified to teach the courses, staff kept switching mid-semester, and it was an unsafe environment. This place is not fit to be an educational institution. I enrolled in January 14th 2014 at the [redacted], PA location on [redacted].

Within one month the director got fired and a new one was assigned. In my Intro A course I started with Mrs. [redacted] and she didn't do any instruction all day. She shared personal things and not doing her job and got fired. Then another professor was assigned, Mr. [redacted]. He told us that he has no background in the subject. In the syllabus we had to learn medical terms, due vitals, anatomy and physiology. We did not reach any of the benchmarks. He could not answer any questions.

The other thing is the hazardous environment. There are no rules. The staff let the students sexually harassed other students, sell drugs, interrupt the teachers, and going up the ladder does not help. I feel like I was in a rehabilitation center instead of a post secondary institution.

I want to get out of the loan and refund my tuition back to the loan company. This was a waste of time and we will not be recommending this school to anyone. This school is in desperate need of help.
