Complaint:
I am rejecting this response because:
This is a new explanation that does not square with what I saw and seems to have been crafted afterwards to explain away my complaintI was in the room when technician two inspected and cleared the clogged lineHe said nothing at the time about misalignment and clearly indicated to me that the clog was the culpritIt is evident that they are sticking to their fabricated story regardless of its misalignment with the facts.

As stated by the business
0.0001pt;">07-29-Technician (1) stated that upon working on the system (to replace the holding tank) it was in good working order and flowing freely to drainHe further stated that there was no garbage disposal in place at the time of service08-01-2015 Technician (2) stated that during the course of investigating the cause of the leak he did in fact mention to the customer that it could be a clogged drain line, and the drain line was taken apart to be cleared only to find that the "line" wasn't cloggedFurther diagnoses revealed that the connection to the drain from the filter system was turned and misaligned blocking the flow to the drain causing the system to baand overflow at the air-gapUpon discovery of this misalignment he made the necessary repairs and noted it in his work papers. He further stated that the garbage disposal had been reinstalled and was in place prior to his arrival. In conclusion, while we are sympathetic to the Customer and any damages he may have suffered, it is our belief that the individual(s) that installed the garbage disposal under his sink caused the misalignment of the drain connection, blockage, leak and damage

Review: This complaint regards damages to my kitchen wall and floor as the result of an improper replacement of an undercounter water filter holding tank. H[redacted] had installed the original tank and I called them to replace it with a new one. The technician who installed the replacement failed to clear the effluent line at the time of installation, which caused my kitchen to flood due the the blockage. There was damage to paint and drywall as well as extensive warping of floorboards as a result. The only reason I know that the installation was the problem was that a second H[redacted] technician who came to the house to remove the blockage explained to me that the line should have been cleared when the replacement tank was installed. That second technician noted the damage to my kitchen and took photos of it, telling me he'd initiate the process of responding to the damage. Nobody from H[redacted] ever contacted me after that. I called a couple of times and spoke to a manager who said they had determined that the problem was caused by the person who installed my garbage disposal (which had to be temporarily remove to give access to the water tank). I told her that her own technician gave a different explanation and was told that I should put my claim in writing, which I did, in a letter dated September 8, 2014. I have received no response to that letter and my phone calls since then have not been returned.Desired Settlement: Harris Water Conditioning needs to, at the very least, explain why they won't take responsibility for what their own technician explained was the cause of the issue. If they are, as I believe they are, responsible to the damage to my kitchen, they will need to compensate me for the needed repairs. I do not have a dollar figure for the damages at this point because I am waiting for a good faith gesture from Harris before I seek an estimate. So far they have only dodged responsibility.

Further diagnoses revealed that the connection to the drain from the filter system was turned and misaligned blocking the flow to the drain causing the system to back-up and overflow at the air-gap. Upon discovery of this misalignment he made the necessary repairs and noted it in his work papers. He further stated that the garbage disposal had been reinstalled and was in place prior to his arrival. I am rejecting this response because:

Find another company (I went with Culligan) and save yourself the headache. These people are operating their business as if they were dinosaurs. Their bills (when you actually receive them) are printed on the paper with the holes down each side of the paper (remember those?). I had such a hard time getting them to send their bills consistently. Finally, after months of trying to get to the problem (and many threatening letters from them), they figured out they had the wrong address for us. They were using an address that was 8 years old! Somehow, however, they managed to get our address correct when sending the threatening letters. When we received the first of the threatening letters, we immediately paid the past due amount and explained to them that we hadnt received the last several months of bills. Instead of a courteous resolution, the woman on the phone continued to laugh (strangest response I have ever heard). After submitting our past due amount, they sent a guy to our door, 6 days later to remove their system. He said he hadnt received communication from Harris water that we had already paid. Bottom line, Terrible experience with this company in every category. Their customer service, their product, I could go on and on. Save your money....
