I had what I thought to be a quality fence installed last year. After a year as instructed I started to stain and seal the fence when I noticed a few of the posts are starting to lean. One post more so than others. To try to nip a major situation in the bud I contacted Harrison as the post is wanting to take my fence and side by side posts to the ground. I sent an email and was informed well wood is not protected. Which I understand or I would have a few more complaints. Then I was told it could be fixed for the low price of $350.After again emailing them to say how poor I thought their business practice was I received an email with a discounted rate of $275.They must be kidding. I know what the price of a post, concrete and digging a hole is. Oh maybe gas has risen by $50 a gallon. Plain and simple bad business and I plan to tell everyone I meet about it. Did I mention that I got this company another contract last year with my neighbor and one who is about to back out. If not remedied I also plan to tell every homeowner who asks me, who I think they should get their fence built by and there are 25 new houses under some stage of development at the end of my street. Right now it will definatley not be Harrison. Also be careful if you go through [redacted] depot for a fence guess who they are sending out.$3700 dollar fence that they wont stand behind. They rather stick it to the small guy for some more money. Thank [redacted]Desired Settlementreplace the bent post and stand behind your work!Business Response Harrison Fence appreciates all customer feedback and we use that feedback to constructively improve our business and customer service. Our number one concern is our customer and working with them throughout the entire process from first appointment, estimate questions, fence installation and follow-up. We regret that the customer is having a concern with warped wood fence material. Our knowledgeable estimators discuss the choice of materials at every onsite consultation at the beginning of every fence project with the homeowner. We let the customers know the pros and cons of each material. A wooden fence is a natural product and is exposed to the elements daily. We have signed documentation from this customer that they know a wood fence can warp, twist, crack etc. We can not warranty the actual wood fence materials but would gladly provided a no cost repair had this been a installation error. We tried to work with the customer and gave a reduced price for the repair. Unfortunately we were not able to do the repair at no charge since the warped post is not covered under any wooden fence warranty.

Harrison Fence declines to stain the fence they installed white like my HOA requires. As of October 28, 2015 Harrison Fence has failed to stain the fence they put up on October 12, 2015. The salesman came to my house and measured for my fence and compared the type of fence my neighbor has in order to put up the same type of fence. We discussed at length the fact that the fence has to match all the other fences in my neighborhood. The salesman said that they could provide us with the exact same product. A contract was drawn up and they came and installed the fence. When I went to pay for the fence the worker told me that the painting was a separate company.I told him that I was not told that before. When I contacted the salesman he said that the painting part had the same owners but it was a separate business. He then told me that it would take more than one coat to make my fence white. I told him that we agreed that the fence would be white when we talked as it has to match my neighbors fence. He said that they would be glad to stain it more than once but I would have to pay for the additional stain because the contract only called for one coat of stain. He admitted that he had explained the painting process incorrectly to me but he refused to do anything about it. He would not return my calls for two weeks. When I finally talked to him on October 26, 2015 he repeatedly apologized but laughed as he stated that they would only apply one coat as the contract stated. I told him that he sold me on the fact that the fence would be the same as my neighbors for the agreed upon price and now he is telling me it will cost more to add extra coats of stain that I didn't know was needed because he sold me a false bill of goods. He laughed and said I signed the contract. I am not an expert on painting fences but I bought a white fence to meet my HOA standards and now Harrison Fence is saying that I should know how many coats it takes to make the fence white and it is my fault for nor knowing. I am not the expert, they are. I feel as though they tool advantage of me and are trying to get more money than they deserve for the work done. I chose this company based on the price of the job and now they are trying to charge me more to complete the job than was agreed to in the contract. I feel that they do this to many other people to try to get contracts from other reputable businesses. The say it only takes one coat of stain until it is time to paint it then they say it will cost more to get it the color white that you desire. He saw my fence the day he gave an estimate for the job and he knew full well that the fence had to be white. I feel that this salesman misrepresented his estimate in order to get the contract. Desired SettlementI want the fence to be stained until it is the same color white as the rest of the fences in my neighborhood for the agreed upon price. Business Response We regret that our customer has a complaint regarding the staining portion of his fencing project. We have been working direct with the customer to resolve his concerns. The contract for the fence and stain included stain of one of our seven main color choices. The white color is not included in the seven colors and does have an increased price to correctly apply the white color. We regret that their was a miscommunication between the customer and the salesman that the stain needed to be quoted as a white color. We have offered a discount for the white color. Also the customer had us quote a premium white stain with a special application. We did have the stain scheduled but the customer has since called to cancel the staining portion of his fence. We removed the stain and the customer is only contracted for the fence installation. Consumer Response This company has at no time tried to resolve any of the issues that I have brought up concerning the staining of my fence. They are blatantly lying about offering a lower price and the fact that they say white was never a choice is beyond ridiculous. They have always maintained that they would only put another coat of stain on if we paid for it at full price. They offered to paint it but that would only chip off. He said it was my choice so I decided to get someone else to stain it. This company has out right lied from day one about the cost of staining my fence. This company is out to scam the public and it is a shame that they can get away with this. Harrison Fence is a disgraceful company that has no integrity and is out to trick people into taking their bids by lying about the actual price when the job is complete. Hopefully the public can learn from my experience and this business will be shut down as it should be.

Harrison Fence was contracted by my neighbor to install a fence. In the process the wire to my invisible fence was damaged and they refuse fix it. I have nothing to do with this fence other than the fact that this company damaged my existing Invisible Fence. I was told that they are not responsible for anything underground, which I find outrageous because it was clearly marked with white flags along the ground and is on my property. Harrison Fence is not contracted by me but I am being affected by their inferior labor. I feel that I should be reimbursed for the repairs to my fence. My fence was damaged on 1/2/14 when the post holes were being dug. I spoke with a representative on 1/4/14 and was told that they will do nothing to help me resolve the issue. My neighbors ordered the fence and no one from Harrison Fence consulted with me about the location of my existing fence before the installation nor did they acknowledge that they severed the wire. All I am asking for is to have the expense of the repair be reimbursed by Harrison Fence. I do not feel that this is an outrageous request.Desired SettlementI would like for Harrison Fence to reimburse the cost for me to have Invisible Fence repair the broken section of my fence.- Case Closed SATISFIED 2014-01-19 I recently filed complaint against Harrison Fence in Raleigh, NC. After filing the complaint the owner contacted me and help settle my dispute. I would like to either update my complaint to commend them on their quick action or remove my complaint all together. How do I go about doing this?

Poor customer service, office manager refuses to take calls or answer emails. Unable to speak with anyone at this company. Had a fence installed. The estimator originally ordered the wrong product and not enough product. Called several times to be sure that the right product was ordered and was assured that it was. It was not. Nobody noticed it was the wrong product until it was over 3/4 of the way installed to which my husband noticed it was the wrong product. We offered to switch out the "front" of the wrong product and keep the rest of the wrong product (even though it does not match) to save them time and money with digging up multiple cemented posts. We at least wanted the front to match. Over the course of this time it took three attempts to install this fence correctly. Not enough product, wrong product, gate incorrectly drilled. During this time we were in contact with the company on multiple occasions regarding the "screw up" on the product. We stated that we would pay the balance owed on the original product that was ordered but due to inconvenience and multiple attempts to get this installed we would not pay for the "upcharge" due to their mistake. The other issue is the matter of time. Confirmation phone calls regarding the time and install date were never correct. Oh, they will be there at 8:30 - never once did they arrive at 8:30 more like 10:00 and then the job constantly had to be "hurried", or the installer had to leave, or they had to wait for other product to be delivered because there was not enough. Finally after getting the fence finished and after repeatedly calling and emailing the office manager ([redacted] we have heard absolutely NOTHING. Have spoken with other office people that keep putting us through to voicemail. We want to pay what we owe but only for what was originally agreed upon due to the inconvenience and the fact that we have a nonmatching fence. We have repeatedly attempted to contact this business with no response. Finally have asked to speak with the owner to which the reply was that the office manager will need to speak with him first regarding this matter. How long do you need to take to speak with the higher ups when this should have been discussed from the initial screw up which was in March? We have attempted multiple times over the past two weeks via phone and email to speak with someone.Desired SettlementI want to pay what was originally agreed upon from the first invoice that we signed. Which would mean that we are NOT responsible for the upcharge for the change out of material. We have already paid the first half of the bill to get the material ordered and installed but I would like to discuss the balance of this bill due to YOUR mistake and wasting OUR time (time off of work, etc). So basically I am asking for the $368.00 to be discounted from my bill and I will happily pay the rest of the bill in full. This $368.00 will cover what we have lost in wages and time ourselves. I would also like to suggest that you hire better office personnel as well. I was extremely happy the first time you installed our fence approximately 3 years ago, it was flawless, but this time was just unacceptable on all levels. Business Response We sincerely regret that the customer had an unfavorable experience with their fence installation. We pride ourselves on our customer service and will work to resolve the issues described within the complaint. For this particular installation the salesmen did order the incorrect fence and did not match the existing fence style. Mistakes do happen and there is an increased price for the upgraded material to match their existing fence. This is why the additional charges were requested from the customer. However we do realize that we made a mistake, our service was sub par and did remove the additional charges from the customer's account. The fence has been installed, we have spoken to the customer and the customer has paid their bill at the original installation price. Again we regret that the customer had to file a complaint and have worked with them to resolve their dissatisfaction.
