Review: On Friday February **, 2014, my wife and I found an apartment that was shown to me by sales agent [redacted]. who worked for a company by the name of Harry & Jacob Realty. [redacted], who is [redacted] of this business, met with us on a Saturday morning Feburary **, 2014 to sign a contract in regards to their broker's fee of $1750 which was equivalent to the rent my wife and I were suppose to pay for a potential apartment I saw February [redacted] in [redacted]. Although we were approved for the apartment, and the contract we signed stated we do not get our refund back once we have been approved, we never moved into this place on Tuesday February **, 2014, due to miscommunications with the landlords of the apartment at the day of the lease signing which negated our original contract; Therefore, as per [redacted], we were entitled to our money back since my wife and I were not at fault the landlords of the apartment made changes to the description of the apartment that were not indicated initially on the ad from craiglists and from what agent [redacted]. provided us with. In the end, my wife and I declined to take the apartment and confirmed with [redacted] they will continue helping us find another apartment. We waited almost 2 weeks and never received a call from any of his agents including, his primary agent, [redacted], who was assisting him with this sale that never took place. I called Harry & Jacob and spoke with [redacted] directly and requested my refund of $1750 since they were no longer assisting my wife and I in finding a home. On Tuesday April *, 2014, I went to pick up a check issued by Harry & Jacob Realty/Chase Bank of $1900 which included the $150 application fee [redacted] also agreed to refuding us back. That same afternoon I deposited the check into my Bank of America account, only to be charged 2 days later a "Return Item Chargeback Fee" of $12.00 for a bounced check. I called [redacted] to ask him what was going on, and he stated he needed to speak with his accountant and people at the bank on why the check bounced. I spoke to [redacted] a week later and he explained my check should be ready in a couple of days as they were making some adjustments with their account at Chase. It is now Monday May **, 2014 and my wife and I have yet to see our full refund. On Friday May * , 2014 I spoke with [redacted] at his office and he informed me he will have a cash refund available by Monday May * 2014, but unfortunately he failed to have my funds available once again. On Tuesday May *, 2014, [redacted] gave me $1000 in cash which left him with a balance of $900, he stated I can pick up the rest on Wednesday May *; However, he called me stating the funds were not ready, but would be available by Thursday May *, 2014. I came by that Thursday and waited for [redacted] at a local restaurant a block away from his office till 10PM waiting for him to return from his meeting as he indicated via text, but he never showed up nor bothered calling me to tell me he was running late or not coming at all. I received a call from [redacted] today Monday May ** 2014 at 01:27 PM informing me that I have to wait until May [redacted] to receive the rest of my money. I am issuing this complaint because I am almost confident he does not plan on having the rest of my money then due to what my wife and I have been experiencing these past 2 months dealing with him. I have also found some online reviews of people who have encountered this same issue as my wife and I are currently going through.Desired Settlement: I would want my refund of $900 returned to me in cash as well as a letter from his office stating Harry & Jacob Realty no longer owes me any funds containing both of our signatures. The refund has to be issued ASAP, as the lack of our refund have caused us some financial issues since February.

Review: [redacted] customer service skills was severely lacking in how to deal with clients. [redacted] is extremely rude, aggressive and no real know how on how to talk to clients. [redacted] was not very clear in terms of documentations, his rule and office policy were very vague and unclear. Do not ask for your deposit refund back in form of a check because his check bounce, ask for a certified bank check instead or cash. He knowingly has no capital to back up your deposit if he writes the check and the drama to try and get your money is exhausted and makes you very distrusting of brokers. Maybe if his specifics in his policy and rules about getting your money back, you probably would have a better experience. I do not recommend his services; beware on leaving a deposit upfront because it is highly unusually to leave money without him getting a guarantee lease on the apartment.Desired Settlement: To stop writing insufficient refund checks because the client incurs a fee from their bank for unknowingly depoiting a fraudulent.

Review: This supppsed "Realty" company claims they have apartments available but it appears they really don't. I don't even know if they are actually licensed. They are scammers and unprofessional. They give you the run around with constant excuses and NEVER have an answer for a status and or they just don not call you back. I am in the process of trying to get my $1,100.00 back from them andnow they are asking me if I want to see another apartment. I still haven't even gotten an actual status on the first apartment I applied for back in July!Desired Settlement: I gave Harry & Jacob Realty a check for $1,100.00 on July **, 2013 and I would like that exact amount back. The check was for a deposit for a one bedroom apartment at [redacted]. The person I gave the check to is [redacted]

As mentioned, please find attached documents supporting that the customer's complaint is false.

Attached is our corporation certificate filed with the State Of New York proving we are a realty company.

Also attached is a copy of our real estate license proving we are a licensed real estate company.

My pocket card is attached proving I myself am a licensed broker.

A copy of her refund receipt signed on 8/**/13 stating she did receive her refund in full.

As well as a screenshot of an email the customer sent me stating "Thank you for being so professional and patient. Clearly, you have the patience of a Saint."

If there is anything else you might need please let me know.

I completely understand her not being happy as she didn't receive the apartment she wanted, however, that outcome was completely out of our control and we provided her with the best possible service that was in our control.

[redacted] never supplied me with an answer as to when I would in actuality receive my refund, hence why I submitted a complaint with the Revdex.com. I got an actual answer (finally later that day after I complained to the Revdex.com) to come by the next day, Tuesday, August [redacted] for a check. ALSO, upon further investigation, I called Parkoff Management directly, and found out that the unit that I was showed by Harry & Jacob Realty back in July had already been rented out and was not available for rental as per Harry & Jacob Realty, to me. So yes, I got my monies back on August [redacted] but I was lied to about the availability of said rental unit, [redacted] and as a result I was inconvenienced into being led to believe that my application was pending approval for the 1 bedroom apt at [redacted] in the Bronx FOR A MONTH. Further more, [redacted] never called me. I always had to call him just to ask if I had been approved yet and all the time, he kept saying, "I don't have an answer..." hence my email to him about being patient, meanwhile, said unit had ALREADY been rented out and he was wasting my time!! I confirmed this with Parkoff Management at [redacted]. Do I feel I was treated with honesty? No. Do I feel I was lied to? Yes. Have I been inconvenienced and left without an apartment and now suffering through a hardship of having no where to live, YES!

Review: I used this company to locate an apartment for me and my wife, we were required to put a security deposit towards the apartment which we were approved for and we did not get the apartment, first off it seems a little ridiculous to pay a security deposite which secured me nothing, they offered another apartment not too long after we supposedly git the apartment and was on out way to sign our lease when then called and said the owner went with a different candidate even the management company was unaware of which I couldn't understand so we requested our deposit back being that they could not find us an apartment now the problem is this was way back in April since they've had our money, we were promised a check for our security amount to pick up may [redacted]....

I called everyday for 2 weeks about picking up my check and everyday I was told tomorrow tomorrow...

The excuse given to me was they've changed banks and they're waiting for the accounts to switch overDesired Settlement: All I want is money back. 1,350.00

Review: I found [redacted] on [redacted] to try and find an apartment. He took my deposit before signing a lease and it turned out to be the apartment was already rented when I spoke to the landlord. I asked for my money back since their was no apartment and it's been 4 months and he has yet to give me back my money.

DON'T EVER TRUST THIS MAN WITH FINDING AN APARTMENT. HE IS A LIAR AND MAKES YOU GIVE A DEPOSIT TO APARTMENTS ALREADY RENTED. RECEIPT SAYS MONEY BACK 2 TO 3 DAYS AND IT'S BEEN 4 MONTHS AND NOT A WORD FROM HIM. THIS MAN MUST BE STOPPED BEFORE HE KEEPS ON STEALING FROM OTHER INNOCENT PEOPLE LIKE MYSELF.Desired Settlement: $1,050 which is what I paid cash for the deposit.

Review: Applied on July ** for an apartment, with a $1700 deposit, a week later the apartment went to someone else. Requested a refund on Aug [redacted], was told that it takes 2-3 days for processing. I requested a certified check, after I read the reviews. You can never reach him via phone, his voicemail box is full. After threats of resorting to other measures, he gave me his attorney's contact information to pick up my check. Called the attorney on 8/**, to be told that there is no money not even is escrow to issue me a check, told the attorney that that was not my problem and that I will be in the city to pick up my money on 8/**. Called the attorney on 8/**, who stated that there is no check and to do what I have to do, visited the local police precinct to file a police report, Now I will be going to small claims.Desired Settlement: want a certified check for the deposit

Review: In May of 2014 I found this agency on craigslist because I was looking for an apartment. [redacted] had me fill out paper work. He said that he would help me but that I needed to give one month up front , so that it would guarantee that I will only work with him. incase I did not get the apartment I would get my money back. He gave me a notarized receipt. Something happened which did not make sense , that I did not get the apartment. he said give him a week and he will return the money . after 2 months of the run around. He had me talk to his lawyer [redacted] His lawyer said he was waiting on [redacted] to issue money...[redacted] kept me posted until he realized something was wrong and no money was being issued to all the people he took money from. He then continued to give the run around saying I would get the money every month up until now. He will not answer my calls or texts and he has done this to other people, one person he wrote out a check to and there ere no funds.Desired Settlement: I would like for this person to stop scamming people who work hard for their money and my money to be returned as soon as possible.
