This customer tried to repair the hub on the front of his truck, but could not complete the job.  He tried to drive to the shop without paying or hiring a tow truck.  He heard a noise, and then called for a tow.  A Driver’s Statement is enclosed, along with photos showing missing...

parts on the hub and damage done prior to towing.  The tire blew out while en route to the shop, as the driver states.  He pulled off to the side of the road to dolly tow.  It would have been impossible to do the kind of damage the customer claims at that time, as far as the tire blowing out.  One of the photos shows damage to the fender - repaired without paint.  That damage most likely happened when the fender was initially damaged, long before the tow.  It had to have rubbed or hit the side of the tire, hurting the integrity of the tire’s side wall.As far as damage to the transfer case and transmission, the truck was towed as per the Owner’s Manual for that year of truck.  Bones Auto Repair never stated that there was possible damage to the drive train.The reason this person is filing a claim is because he has not had money to fix the front hub of his truck, so he is trying to find someone else to pay for his repairs.  I will not turn this over to my insurance company.  This is a bogus claim.Ron H[redacted]Hansen’s Towing
