Harte Pool Wiring and Lighting, Inc. Reviews (1)

This company provided the electric work for [redacted]. I have a number of concerns regarding their inferior service. They tore through my water line while digging trenches for the pool wiring. I was out of water for 2 days and they tried to deny that there was a broken line until water began to fill the trench. The GFI outlet by the pool has never worked. I have tried several times to make appointments for them to replace it and they have not responded on 2 occasions. They were to have come out to replace the outlet last week but it was still not working. The company tech I spoke to said that he had a video or him installing the new outlet and I must be at fault, as if I do not know how to plug in an appliance. He said to try several appliances to see if they would work and check to see if the breaker had tripped. the breaker had NOT tripped and NO appliance would work. The tech treated me in a rude and condescending manner and was rude. I emailed my concerns to the office manager who assured me that when the pool was opened on Saturday the owner of the company would be out to fix this problem. The pool tech was to call him when he arrived at my house. The owner did not answer the phone and he was called several times, both by me and the pool tech. I have had to have this issue fixed at my own expense at this point. This is the most disreputable company I have ever dealt with.Desired SettlementI do not want any monetary compensation as I do not believe I would ever receive it and I do not trust them at all. I would however like a written explanation as to why I have been treated like this and I would request an apology. I want this complaint taken seriously as I paid for services I did not receive.Business Response The Homeowners swimming pool electrical was installed on 12/17/2013. While digging her trench to run the electrical lines, a water line to her well was hit. The office became aware of this problem around 7:00 pm on the 17th. A technician from our company was called and dispatched to her home at 8:00 that night. The technician was not able to make the repairs that night and returned the following morning first thing and made the repairs. The Homeowner was offered a paid hotel room for the night which she declined. On Monday January 5th, 2014 our technician went to The Homeowners house and replaced the outlet in question as requested. The Outlet was working fine when the technician left. On May 06, 2015 another technician was dispatched after The Homeowner made another complaint the outlet was not working. The outlet was replaced again and a video was taken by the technician to confirm the outlet was working fine. The video does show a vacuum plugged into the outlet and it was working fine. It was not necessary for The Homeowner to call another company to repair the outlet. The final inspection has not been performed on her pool as of this date. According to The Homeowner another company was called to repair an outlet that was not working. She has not informed us what was repaired by another company or produced any paper work stating what was repaired. Her Pool has not had the final inspection done as of yet. Under state law, no other electrician is allowed to touch a job under someone else's license. Therefore, her warranty is voided. The office manager requested an appointment with The Homeowner and the owner of the company so we could get this problem resolved. She declined saying she did not want to be alone with anyone from our company. This comment was and is totally absurd! She wanted the owner of the company to be there when the pool company opened the pool. They were to call when they were on the way. At 3:20 Saturday afternoon, an out of state phone number called the owners phone. He does not answer out of state calls on the weekend. No text messages were sent. I have pulled all phone records for the owner and no calls are on the records from The Homeowner. I will provide these records if necessary. I will also provide the video of the working outlet if necessaryConsumer Response This company is lax in all their work and not trustworthy. Warranty voiding is just a way for them to get out of work. I don't care if I have to pay another company for any other work. I absolutely do not want anyone from this company on my property ever again. If they come on my property for any reason I will consider it harassment and I will call the police and press charges.Final Business Response We are a highly reputable company with hundreds of happy clients. Warranty voiding is not on our part. This client took that responsibility all on her own. There are laws in the state of North Carolina regarding other companies working under someone else's licensed permit. It is illegal. That is why her warranty is voided. Still haven't seen proof of what another electrician did to repair a working outlet. In closing, we do not go on home owners properties without permission. Good luck in your future.
