8/12/17They made the purchase on Monday 7/17/ On Tuesday 7/18/we had scheduled to look at their furniture that they wanted to sell I did tell them we could bring the chest along with us on Tuesday But they insisted on taking it with them So Tuesday morning came and our men went to their house to look at the furniture they wanted to sell There furniture had water damaged tops We gave them an offer and they didn't except At that time nothing was said about the chest the bought from us We are closed on Wednesdays and the call came in on Thursday 7/20/days laterThe chest was sold as last one "No refunds or exchanges" as on their receipt They did receive the chest from our sales floor And the call was how "her husband is furious." He is the one writing this letter.Thank you!

7/27/17A copy of the receipt is enclosed "Last One" + "No Refunds or Exchanges" on the bottom where the customer signed for it They (mother & daughter) hauled the chest themselves on a day of severe rain storms We covered the chest with clear plastic to be courteous to our customer The did receive the only black chest we had on the sales floor as stated on the sales tag They looked it over and made the purchase Calling us after a few days Saying "Her Husband is furious" As he has written this letter But wasn't here to help her make the purchaseThank you,

The table + chair set was sold as floor sample NO MORE HERE. There is nothing wrong with the chairs. It's how the customer is using the chairs.Thank you!Sue

I am rejecting this response because: Revdex.com of Metro DC and Eastern PennsylvaniaRE: Complaint #***Hello, I am rejecting the 2nd response from Hartlaubs New & Used Furniture for the following reasons:As It is correctly stated, a representative, from Hartlaubs, visited our residence on 7/to examine the bedroom suit that was offered for saleWith that said, my wife has a daycare that is located at our homeAt the time she was busy with several toddlers and forgot to say anything about the water damage the chestAgain, due to the limited showroom and store hours, she did not call after the daycare was closed for the dayIn any case, three (3) days would be considered a reasonable amount of time to place a follcall after the purchase of the damaged itemIsn’t the industry standard days?The response references the “no refunds or exchanges” disclaimer printed at the bottom of the receiptAsking to return a chest, that was damaged before it was purchased, for another identical chest is hardly the definition of a refund or exchangeThere is no reference to the piece being sold “AS/IS”, which would give us no recourseI go back to the statement made on the phone, from the female representative, when my wife called on the third day, that “nothing in life is perfect’This is an admission that the piece was probably damaged as my wife said and that Hartlaub’s had no intention of replacing it.I fail to recognize the relevancy of the rejected offer on the used bedroom set, nor does it matter who is writing this complaintMy wife asked me to handle the situation and that is our choiceDeflecting attention from the true problem at hand, which is purchase of damaged piece and retailer refusing to replace it, by referencing irrelevant information, is as I stated, POOR costumer care. It’s obvious that the same discourteous individual that is writing the vague and pointless responses to this complaint was on the phone with my on July 20thIn the days and weeks since the complaint was logged, I have “googled” complaints regarding Hartlaubs New and Used FurnitureI encourage you to do so the same and read the complaints I foundAnything from selling damaged pieces to refusing ADA compliance for service dogsAs I stated before, Hartlaubs has a history of POOR customer service! Enclosed is a copy of the receipt.The merchandise was sold as "Floor Sample" and signed for as "No Refunds or Exchanges"The chairs were not damaged when they were picked up. She called with a complaint of the chairs loose + wedge falling out. I told her to bring the chairs inShe
dropped off chairs. It was the last set sold and instock on our sales floor. That was the same set they seen + bought. The two chairs were brought in with a small crack on legs but weren't broke throughThe chairs were disassembled + reglued and were picked up by her husband. They looked the same as when they were purchased. Thank you!Sue
