would come to a total of 855 dollars for labor only if we did,of course we did not as you can clearly see from our invoice. So this statement is false.We did have to replace the part two times as the first pump had incorrect pressure  but we only charged him one time as you can clearly see using the labor guide we have included and also use. If we charged him 2 times his labor price would have been over 200 dollars more bringing his total over $900.00. The truck remained in our shop the entire time until completed. He agreed to the price before any repairs was started. This is our procedure to get customer authorization prior to repair. Our prices may be a little higher than other shops around the country but they are less than many others also. The price was told to him prior to fixing his truck and he agreed to proceed with the repair.  Pump price is a part  price which is easy to understand. Time to diagnose and analyze the vehicles problem is also easy to understand like lab results from a doctor. Labor can vary due to many different situations like customer request, rust, customizing, ect... We know the charges for these repairs were at fair industry value and stand by them and our work. I also understand the customer is on pain medication for severe back pain and I have deep sympathy for him as I also live with some but not to his degree. We have been in business for over 50 years of which I personally am proud to have been part of for almost 25 of those years. I am the Shop Foreman and oversee all work that comes in and goes out for quality and pricing. I enjoy what I do and love people. I know there has not been any wrong doing in this matter. along with the $40 storage charge per day is stated on our signs. The upcharge is due to the greater difficulty of the tow and payment to our drivers. When picking up an illegally parked car the tow truck driver must load the car without keys. When a car does not have keys it will not roll, therefore making it more difficult and putting more wear and tear on our trucks. This causes our drivers to spend more time loading the immobile vehicle manually without causing any damage to the vehicle. In regards to her statements about how much we pay our employees, the whole process of an illegally parked car can take up to three hours. After the car is loaded it must then be brought to the police department in order for it to be registered. This can take up to two hours, and during that time our drivers are not able to go on other calls. We make our customers pay in cash, because we have had previous customers cancel payments on checks and cards. This is simply a precautionary measure for our company, and most other businesses require cash only because of the problem stated previously. Our storage fee are based from 12 AM to 12 PM. When her car was dropped of at 10:05 a $40 storage charge was applied because that is counted as a day. Since the customers did not pick it up until the following day that counted as a second day. She was charged $40 for 4/17/2017 when the car was dropped off and then $40 for 4/18/2017 the day in which the vehicle was picked up. Hartmann’s Auto Center Inc. does not pick up illegally parked cars until the manager contacts us. The location that the car was towed from is near Busch Stadium, and the customers admitted to being at the game. Often times people will park at this business, because it is closer to the stadium and it does not cost. The business does not allow non customers to park in their lot. Due to being close to Busch Stadium, and no cost it is common for multiple vehicles to be illegally parked and towed from that location in one night. Hartmann’s Auto Center Inc. regrets the issue at hand, however this has been the first misunderstanding we have ever encountered from an illegally parked car.
