I am rejecting this response because: The letter from Atty [redacted] is completely untrue. I found Hartzell's Tree Service in the phonebook. I have receipts stating Hartzell's Tree Service did the work. Even the shrub work he did for me, which this complaint is about, has the shrubs were purchased by Hartzell's Tree Service on the receipts. When he needed three more shrubs to complete the work, as sloppily as it was, Bryce H[redacted] even represented himself to the local nursery as Hartzell's Tree Service. Later when I complained to the owner of Hartzell's Tree Service, Bryce H[redacted], about how bad the work was done, Bryce H[redacted] complained that he did not even make a profit after paying his two employees. Every time they were at my home, they were dressed in Hartzell's Tree Service uniforms, and all the trucks, and equipment had Hartzell's Tree Service name, and logos on them. I believe Bryce H[redacted] had to hire an attorney to help him come with some kind of fantasy excuse to say it was not Hartzell's Tree Service that did the work. The very first time I met Bryce H[redacted] from the phonebook to take down my trees, he stated to me that he does landscaping work, and would plant the arborvitaes, when I mentioned to him that I was going to have the fallen trees replaced with arborvitaes. At that point I did not even know him.It is true that I did go fishing with Bryce H[redacted], but to say we were friends in the very short time we knew each other is really stretching the truth. Bryce H[redacted] did ask me to go fishing with him, and I did so because I like fishing too, but in the short time we knew each other, I did not know him well enough to call him a friend. However, in that short period of time I realized that Bryce H[redacted] was not the kind of person I would want for a friend, and immediately stopped associating with him.I also believe if you are going to do work for a friend, you are going to do the best job you can for your friend. In my case we had an agreement that he would place the arborvitaes thirty inches back from the marked property line, and that Hartzell's Tree Service would put up a line thirty inches back from the property line, and paint a spot along that line where each arborvitae should be planted. He did none of that, which resulted in the arborvitaes being planted in a crooked line, and in a line not parallel to my rear property line, and in a crooked line that was far greater than the thirty inches we had agreed upon. I completely reject the notion that it was not Hartzell's Tree Service that did the work.
