Great product so far!
We've had our Harvest Right for about 6 months now and it works very well. We have been able to build up our long term did storage greatly with this machine. We also enjoy keeping a jar of each product we process for snacking. It's a great investment.

Great Idea, Poor product with poorer support.
The unit arrives and works for about a month and then started erroring out. Their solution was to duck tape a number of wires and then fill it up with Glue. Apparently, the wires were exposed. This clearly a design error. The unit started to have strange drying errors, but it had been a year. So now they want $45 just to talk to support. Clearly, they don't stand behind their product. The units are expensive and poorly designed. Don't expect any help if you run into issues. The only reason, I don't give them one star is that the product is really cool if and when it works.

No Vacuum - Corrected
Greetings! We have been using our Harvestright mid-sized freeze dryer for nearly a year when we experienced a vacuum error. The first thing we noticed was the error message on the display, so we checked the batch of fruit we’d been processing and it seemed to have a bit of moisture still present. Of course I blamed my sweet wife for over-using the machine and she blamed me for being born in the wrong century.
We contacted Harvestright by email and submitted a “ticket”. The next day a young-sounding woman with a charming name called to ask us about our issue. I’ve forgotten her name, but they each had clever and delightful names. I’ve come to the conclusion that all the service representatives are brothers and sisters and were named by the same parents.
Chad and Humberto were able to guide me to perform a series of tests on our unit and send them the data I collected on a thumb drive. Logically, they sent replacement parts that were the most likely, but least expensive, culprits for the vacuum leak. At first, although they said it might be my vacuum pump, they sent me new gaskets and valves. More test data. Megan took over the diagnosis mission at that point and based on the test data, she immediately sent a replacement vacuum pump. It cleared up the vacuum issue completely and immediately. I had to retract the accusation I made at my wife in the beginning. However, she continues to insist that I might have fit in better if I had been born in the Nineteenth Century.
There you have it, you’re in good hands with the tech staff at Harvestright! Thanks guys!

This customer is accusing us of sending equipment that was damaged prior to shipmentWe assure you that we do not ever package and send freeze dryers that are dmaged A package can look good when a customer receives itHowever, because the item is expensive, we always ask the customers to unbox the equipment while the carrier is there to see if there is damage If a customer refuses to do this, we don't have much recourse with the shipping company

The damage to the customer's unit was exaggerated by the customerThere was just a very small dent on the back of the unit that no one would have noticed as that portion of the unit would be against the wall. However, we have responded to this individual and have offered to refund their
entire purchase amount upon the return of our freeze dryer

I am rejecting this response because:We were expecting a new freeze dryer. Had we known our $2500 was going to get us a dented floor model that would have to be pushed into the corner to hide it's flaws, we wouldn't have made the purchase in the first place.

We are sincerely sorry that the freeze dryer arrived with a small dent.  Again, the damage is very small and will be noticable to no one because the back of the freeze dryer will be to the wall.  We are glad to provide the customer with $250 of accessories if he chooses to keep the freeze dryer as it is, or we are glad to completely refund the customer's money and pay for return shipping.Sincerely,Dan N[redacted], President.

Freeze Dryer. But we do charge for shipping as the unit is a good sized appliance and weighs 200 lbs.She is correct, we do offer a one year warranty. We also offer an extended, 3 year warranty for $450.00. As [redacted] mentioned, we do have a layaway program for our freeze dryers that allows people to put down as little as $250 to reserve a $2,500 purchase that is on sale. That way, they can get a sale price but not have to pay for it until they can. We don't like to see people go into debt, so we urge them to use layaway rather than financing.Layaway deposits are refundable. Typically we charge $20 for a service fee if someone puts money down on layaway then changes their mind and wants their layaway deposit back. In this case, because [redacted] wanted a refund immediately we made an exception and didn't charge her the $20. Hope this helps. Thanks,DanDan N[redacted]

We have contacted the customer and gave him the opportunity to return the freeze dryer to us for a full refund or to allow one of our technicians to go to his home and help him get it working. Thanks,Dan
