Arial,sans-serif;">On Sept. 20, 2015 I received a call to rent our Country Chalet. It showed on the internet that we had vacancy for Sept. 24, 25 & 26, 2015. After talking to [redacted] on the phone we took a reservation for the 3 days. Sept. 24 to leave Sept. 27, 2015. I took the credit card number but never processed it. Less than 48 hours later we realized that we had these days already booked. In fact it was booked on July 25, 2015. I do not know how we made this mistake but I immediately contacted the [redacted]s both by phone and by email. (a copy of the email is provided below.) I tried to explain to Mr. [redacted] what had happened.  He only wanted to know how much I was going to pay to book another place for him. I knew he had waited to the last moment to book ours and the chance of finding any vacancy in Door County for the weekend he wanted was not going to be good. I offered to check other places but he was so unreasonable it was useless. He keeps referring to money he lost but he never lost any money to me. Whatever else he booked that he could not get a refund for was never disclosed. I felt that no matter what I did or said was not going to change unless I give him money for my mistake. We have owned this rental for 27 years and never had any issues before.

Hi [redacted],I'm sorry but I made a big mistake.The people that I had marked down for coming in on Mondaydid not show up. When we called today we found out that they had reservations for Sept. 24 arrival, not Sept 21. So I had it double booked. I will refund your deposit immediately when I get home from work tonight. I never had anything like this ever happen before. I'm just so sorry to disappoint you on your vacation schedule. I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID [redacted], and have determined that this does not resolve my complaint.  For your reference, details of the offer I reviewed appear below.
Please see the attached receipt.  He claims he never processed our payment.  He says in his own email that he refunded the deposit right away.  Looks like Mr. [redacted] is not telling the whole truth to the Revdex.com??  Maybe bending the truth a little to make himself look better??  We had a reservation at another place prior to booking with Mr. [redacted].  When he accepted our reservation and accepted our deposit....we canceled our previous reservation.  I asked Mr. [redacted] to help us find another place.  I never heard back from him.  I had to call him again that evening to ask for his help.....I got no help from him.  He acted as if I should feel sorry for him...that he had never made a mistake like this in 27 years.  That is when I got angry.  My wife and I had taken our vacation time.  We had paid for the cancellation fee of our previous reservation.  His response was "I might be able to give you a little discount in the future".   All I heard from him was how this had never happened in 27 years.....it was all about him.  While he is talking about poor him....we are left without a place to stay on our vacation.  No Solutions or help from him ever came.We were left without a vacation.  We paid the cancellation on another unit.  I lost a small deposit on a fishing trip.If Mr. [redacted]"s solution is to bash an honest customer because of his mistake.....that's ok.  I will leave my reviews of business practices around town for others to beware of.  More than a few people through the years will read them and decide to stay at another place.
