Review: I recently took in a lawn mower for a beginning of the season tune up. The mower is older but before dropping the mower off at Hastings it ran perfect with NO issues or belt problems. After paying $231.47 for the tune up I took the mower home to find it was not working properly. I then took the mower back and the mechanic found a belt he forgot to tighten so he tightened it. I then took the mower home again and went to use it to cut grass for the first time since the tuneup and within minuets a different belt popped off the pulley. I saw what was wrong and put the belt back in place and tried again, but after starting to cut the belt popped off again. At this point I was frustrated. Instead of taking the mower back to Hastings I took the mower to another authorized dealer, since I did not trust the work at Hastings. Upon the new mechanic checking out what was wrong with the mower he found that who ever previously worked on the mower had put two belt guides back in the wrong place. (which was Hastings) When I found this out I called Hastings to file a complaint and asked for a partial refund since my mower did not work after paying them for a tune up. Hastings refused to work with me even after they admitted to messing up one belt AND having another mechanic check their work and found errors. I believe I am entitled to at least a partial refund since they messed up a service I paid for. To me its almost like they tried taking advantage of me since my young age. I don't know if their mistakes are from forgetfulness or them trying to make a quick buck and messing stuff up on my mower on purpose just so id have to pay them more to repair it again.Desired Settlement: I would like a $100.00 refund of the $231.47 I paid for the tuneup since I had to make two trips back to a mechanic due too problems resulting directly from their negligence. Not only did I loose out on my time and gas but profit opportunity also.
