Very unhappy with the service department. My 2009 Ford Escape was serviced here for an oil leak issue covered by the warranty. Took nearly a month to get it "fixed". Now I find after moving out of state and having the exact same issue again, that my local Ford dealer found the previous job was done incorrectly. The bolt used at the front of the timing cover was too long and caused coolant to leak out. I now need an engine block repair that is not covered by warranty. I will never recommend this shop to anyone. If it weren't for their shoddy work, my car would not be in the shape it is. I was mislead when I went to purchase a vehicle [redacted] from them and taken advantage of on 09/15/14. First I was given a false [redacted] of the vehicle, was told that it was an one owner truck. I later found the original one in the truck and that it was a three owner vehicle. The truck had a stretch on the back tail light and front passenger finder which was caused fro an accident that was reported on 06/27/2012 in Virginia.. They agreed to fix the tail light before I purchased it and I asked they about the front finder they said no. After purchasing the vehicle threw the [redacted] they was asking too much for it. Next after finding the original [redacted] in the truck I called them about fixing the finder and told them that if I would have know that it was involved in an accident I would not have purchased it. After taking it back to them 5times to fix the front finder and tire pressure gauge light dealing with different people every time I was over it asked them to take the truck back they then tried to put me in something that I could not afford, needless to say I am still driving it and not pleased with the way I was treated. And will never do business with them againProduct_Or_Service: 09/15/14Desired SettlementI would have like for them to take this truck back and give the[redacted] back there money....Business Response We did sell a [redacted] to Ms.[redacted] on 9/15/2014. There was a scratch to be fixed on her vehicle that was professionally repaired by our body shop. Which was part of the original agreement. The vehicle history report is available for all of our vehicles and we have no control over what it reports, nor do we have the ability to alter a report. We use auto check for history reports for all non-certified vehicles. The auto-check still reflects no accidents reported for this vehicle. We agreed upon a selling price with Ms.[redacted] and [redacted] financed it for her. We take very seriously customer satisfaction and our agreements with our customers. We agreed upon a price and some work to be completed after the sale. We honored that price and completed the work promised. We did not and would not falsify any documents. Consumer Response You repaired not all that you said you would but just enough to sell another vehicle off the lot. The scratch was professionally repaired by your body shop well after at least five tries it was. The tire pressure light was turned off to come back on latter not fixed. Was told that it would pass inspection with the light on. Not once did I say you had the ability to alter a [redacted] nor falsify any documents. I stated that I was mislead and taken advantage of. Maybe you should try another site with more accurate and up to date information. When getting the oil change I found other things wrong with the vehicle more money out of my pocket. If this vehicle was put threw an eight point inspection while on the lot these thing would have been caught. By being a well known car dealership such as Hasting Ford I am sure you strive on customer satisfaction and would not settle for anything less. The sell of this vehicle was not done to customer satisfaction .I am very much not satisfied. Except the responsibility of the mistakes that were made during the sale of this vehicle figure out how to correct them or make it right stand behind your word (CUSTOMER SATISFACTION).Final Business Response We work very hard at Hastings to provide accurate information and disclose all of the responsibilities of the dealership and the customer to maintain a vehicle. We have different types of used cars to chose from, we have certified used cars that have a 100k mile warranty and we have more economical vehicles that come with no warranty. Vehicles with longer warranties carry a higher price and the ones without are usually less expensive. Whichever vehicle we sell at a minimum it meets all state safety requirements, which this one did. This particular vehicle was sold without a warranty which Ms.[redacted] signed acknowledging it did not have one.
