We here at Hatfield Used Car Center are sorry that Mr [redacted] has had problems with the truck he purchasedWe do as much as possible to prepare our unitsThis truck was serviced prior to sale, I personally drove it myself and it had know known issuesAfter Mr [redacted] purchased this truck on 9/21/ I had done a cortesey repair regarding a leak and also a check engine lightNeither of which we had to doThat repair was done 9-30-Mr [redacted] clearly understood that this truck had no free warranty when he purchased itAs a matter of fact we as we always do insist our customers purchase an extended service contact which eliminates these issuesThe following statement is a direct quote from my business manager Shelly who signed and explained everything to Mr [redacted] at time of deliveryQUOTE" I actually signed him up on all his paperworkFirst of all we went back and forth for about days about the prices on extended service contracts which he decided not to getWhile signing the papers he was a total gentleman and seemed very happy.I one last time suggested he buy a serviced contract on the truck because he needed to understand this truck was as-isHe informed me very politely that he understood that and that he decided to not take the serviced contractPapers were all signed and he left here thanking meThis was my experience with this customer, even gave me coupons to give out to customers and I agreed to do that" UNQUOTEI am sorry that Mr [redacted] has had these problems but we feel that doing the goodwill repair once was more than enoughRespectfully, Keith D [redacted] , President, Hatfield Used Car Center

Complaint: [redacted] I am rejecting this response because:It was not only me involved it was [redacted] as well they initiated contact, he tried to tell Heather he could not get a loan and as you can see by the text messages she would not stopMason shook [redacted] 's hand and told him congratulations you just bought a car (the Durango) he ( [redacted] ) even signed some paper they had him sign with the initial terms.Mason said I was approved which is why he wanted to show us the Van and Volvo, due to the "caps" they had put on the loan, which again he did not mention that on the phone, again referencing the text message on Monday we were told in the text to bring the title to my Patfinder, as well as Mason giving me the same information on the phone.The miss leading and lieing is unacceptable for a business practice, even when Mason called before we went again on Monday he stated I was approved with trading in my Pathfinder and did not mention we could not get the DurangoThey should have told us we could not get the Durango on the phone when he calls on MondayI do not even feel that the person whom responded even reall read what I wrote as he did not address the miss leading and lieing Regards, Audrey Davis

We regret Mrs*** had a poor experience here at Hatfield Used Car CenterHer case is complicated as there are issues that we were unable to overcome with the lenders in trying to put a loan togetherPossibly Mrs *** could go direct to a lender of her choice and get pre approved and then
be able to just go pick out want she really wantsAs painful as it is we are unable to obtain financing for Mrs *** with her current situationKeith D***, President, Hatfield Used Car Center

Again we here at Hatfield Used Car Center apologize for these circumstances. We know that it can be frustrating at times for consumers especially when we are trying to get lenders to approve what we need based on customers situation. So many things have to line up in order for the underwriters to give funding approvals. Unfortunatly there was a pre approval but certain things were not accepted once it got to the funding department. I would like to note that since this business opened in April of 2004 we have sold 9084 used cars. Most of our customers are satisfied, and we can only do our best to address the unsatisfied. I am rejecting this response because:Of course I was all smiles and satisfied at the time of purchase... I purchased the truck withOUT a check engine light on.  The light came on on my drive home from the dealership.  Had I known there were major issues going on, I would not have purchased the vehicle.Just ask yourself, if you purchased a $25,000+ vehicle and were forced to TOW it to a mechanic and spend $1,000 within days of purchasing, how would you react?  All smiles?  Satisfied?There is no way that response resolves any issues.

Mr. [redacted] clearly understood that this truck had no free warranty when he purchased it.
