Ms***, I am sorry to hear that you have had a less thansatisfactory experience with my business. I pride myself on exceptional customer service and over the years havehad many satisfied and repeat customers. I have read your complaint and would
like to offer to pick up and returnthe items you mentioned that were spent in supplies. Those items were left with you on site with acopy of the receipt and are all returnable except the opened joint compoundthat was used and left with you that has a value of $6.86. I went over the supplies and receipt withyour partner on my last day on site. There were supplies that were used on the job that I did not charge you forincluding two tubs of caulk and fasteners as well as letting you use mycontractor discount to pick up the supplies. I also provided you a reduction in my day rate for the workperformed. My minimum day rate is $225and you were charged $for the day I spent on your job site. This was for work that I performed andcompleted on your job site. There appeared to be difficulty in communication andexpectations of work to be performed throughout the process. My apologies if I was unclear as to how my businessworks in any way. I was asked by yourpartner if she could work with me on the site in order to save money. This is not a practice that I offer in mybusiness as it is unsafe and would be difficult for a professional contractorto manage. You mentioned in yourcomplaint that “I complained about the finish”. This was not a complaint as much as it was necessary to obtain theproper finish in order to deliver the quality of painting services that youdeserve. A flat finish is recommendedfor walls with vaulted ceilings due to the fact that flashing will most likelyoccur when another sheen is rolled out. When you and your partner requested to pick up the materials, I wasspecific in stating that you would need to select a flat finish. Instead a different finish was selected. I had no intention of refusing to completeyour job, but I did state that it seemed that we were not on the same pageafter multiple emails and discussions occurred regarding this job. I recommended that if we could not get on thesame page that it may make more sense to hire another contractor. Your partner and I were able to work throughsome of the communication challenges and unrealistic expectations and we agreedto proceed. At this point, I was askedby you to not come back or finish the work. This cost me $1,in lost wages for the week as I do not double bookjobs. Again, I am sorry that you were unsatisfied and that we werenot able to work together to meet your goals. Sincerely, *** ***

Review: Obtained a painting bid from the business. Corresponded via email and telephone. Confirmed work to be performed and price. Agreed to perform some tasks - for example putting down plastic in advance, etc. The owner was very emotional and difficult to deal with. She would get upset at any little change or question. HORRIBLE customer service. It was put up with because she was suggested by a friend and was told that she was a good painter. She arrived at the job one day. Then after obtaining paint she complained about the finish. Then she refused to paint a room. She backed out of performing the work. The job as offerred to her after consulting several contractors. TOTALLY unprofessional and UNACCEPTABLE behavior as a business owner. I would NEVER recommend her again to anyone. I beleive that she got another job that was more $$$ and easier to do and she figured that she did not want to deal with a customer who had high expectations of service.Desired Settlement: I had to pay her $300 for work performed and supplies spent to date which I could have used on another contractor. She could potentially cost me more money than the $300.I asked her to leave. I essentially had to fire her. I could not deal with the drama and her lack of professionalism and customer service. I am sure she will make up some excuse for her behavior and wanting to back out.
