Let me start by saying I was a 42 year business owner and I know the value of the Revdex.com. It pains me to have to make this report but it is only fair to others I do. This shop was not recommended by anyone in this town after my two week search for an auto electric repair shop, in this small town. I learned why first hand after sending my vehicle there. Problem was Suburban turning over but not starting. I have never known a mechanic faced with the issue I had, not first checking for spark or fuel working. It is square one every time you are faced with the issue. I was quoted $95 for an hour of diagnostics. I was later called to be told I needed a battery ($155.00) and a fuel pump ($800.00). I had checked the battery with a commercial tester before sending the truck to them that morning. It was very good. I was told it took four hours to remove the old pump and install a new one by the book. I checked online and found it could be done in an hour and a half on a rack with a tank jack. I confirmed this with an ex- Chevrolet mechanic friend that day. At this point I knew I was being lied to. I told them to put the truck down and I would have it towed home. I was told I owed for two hours of diagnostics to determine it was the fuel pump. Excuse me? You have the fuel test gauge that connects in two minutes. It took two minutes max to pull a plug wire and test for spark. You provided electric to the pump through removing the relay and powering the circuit which took five minutes. Now you want to tell me I owe you $190.00 for two hours of diagnostics? I guess if I was a person with no automotive knowledge I would have accepted it. But I was a mechanic and ran an auto center before. I found the same exact pump part number he told me cost $384.00 online multiple places for $195.00 to $253.00. When I confronted him about his charges he immediately reduced the price to try and help me he said. A whopping $100.00. I KNOW when that happens it is no shop to be in. I was suspect when all I saw was his own self serving praises on all his plaques and advertising online. Should have known better. So the bad battery in my truck still tests very good and runs everyday. $155.00 I would have been ripped off for. I bought a comparable pump for $94.55, got it in a day. A $290.00 gouging I would have suffered. I found online an easy install and installed the pump in an hour and a half. Guys were changing them on their back in the driveway in two hours. Another $200.00 rip off. I was ripped off for an hour of diagnostics that took fifteen minutes tops. $100.00. So if I had just accepted the lies I would have been ripped off for $745.00 that day. Then he also wanted to start doing other diagnostics for more money after he replaced my good battery, claiming mine was so bad he couldn't determine if there were other problems. I was wise and took my truck back saving $645.00 I should have never spent. As it was he did fifteen minutes diagnosis and charged me $190.00 fixing nothing. He told me he had to make a profit. A profit? $800 on a bill of $1,084.00? That is a 400% profit!!! I send this complaint not for me but for the many many elderly people who live in this town who may find this and avoid this dishonest shop. There was definitely a reason nobody in this town recommended this shop. And let me warn everyone, this guy is a slickster with a smooth con line. BEWARE.
