I board an elderly horse with Haven Acres I think Haven Acres is an excellent facility for full service horse boarding, particularly for elderly or physically challenged horses Staff of Haven Acres are very attentive to tailoring horse care to the special needs of the individual horse Staff are knowledgeable and dedicated to providing an environment that provides care of both physical and mental health of the horsesAttentive daily care is combined with access to suitable pastures and access to other horses Staff also understand that elderly horse care is dynamic - needs of horses change They notice changes in health or mood of horses and respond accordingly Special feed and feeding procedures are not a problem; my horse has been receiving specially-prepared feed and several feedings per day to enhance recovery from hospitalization In addition, there are less than horses, which allows for pasture rotation to maintain healthy grasses and forage plants and reduces the need for hayFewer horses also limits the spread of equine diseases and parasites Communication about horse care between staff and myself is timely and thorough, with clear description of expectations and responsibilities Haven Acres is not a riding stable, it is a private farm, which provides a serene environment for the horses and other animals on site My elderly horse is thriving at Haven AcresI would wholeheartedly recommend this business to other horse owners looking for specialized care
