This business is dishonestWhen I bought my car in for a smog check they failed itThe technician Phuvinh Chung told me he would diagnose it for $I was surprised as the car had never had any issue, and the tech was unfriendly offering no questions or suggestionsHe left the invoice for $at the counter with my key and left the areaThe front desk said he was charging me for the certificate, but he didn't even submit itShe removed that fee and charged me $43, but told me they will have to charge me full price again if I bring it backI drove it down the street to an actual car repair shop and they found nothing wrong! The told me they get cars from this Tokay Shell all the time that fail smog, but usually there is nothing wrong maybe a loose hose or something that is obvious they should have seen on the visual inspection that comes with the smog checkThe mechanic asked if the battery had been replaced, it hadHe just drove it a few miles to reset the OBD, all clearI called Tokay Shell for a refund and they refusedThey said to go ahead and leave a bad review at Revdex.com, "we don't care", hence this reviewYou have to trust auto mechanics in general, and they did not earn my trustI feel sorry for honest folks who get ripped off hereCustomer beware! The car passed Star smog an another location with flying colors, its a Toyota :-)
Took my vehicle in for a smog, they told me that it failed, and tried to charge me another $on top of the for the smogThey offered a free re-test, but I refused, and took it to have it smogged somewhere else because I knew there wasn't anything wrongIt should've passed at Tokay ShellI took it to another smogg location a couple days later, and it passed with no problem whatsoeverI feel this place was trying to get a little more money for the diagnostic checkI'm not sure if they have a history of hustling people, but, it would be interesting to know
