We took over this account from the previous company running The Ohia at the time that this resident lived in the buildingDuring the transition we reviewed all files and no paper work was found stating anything about an agreement between both parties so this resident's balance with us was sent to collectionsThis is the first time we've heard of this issue and would have been more than happyto work it out with the past resident had they contacted us.With that being said we will be contacting the collections company to remove them and will be wiping their balance with usWe are currently getting in contact with the collections agency to make sure further/if any reporting is not sent to the credit agencyWe will be sending a statement to show the $balance to the e-mail address provided on this complaint

This case has been resolved with the parents of *** ***, I spoke with his Mother and offered to meet with his sister who was in town to discuss the issueOnce we discussed this I had our accounting department refund his account on
5/20/and they received an updated statement reflecting a $balance on 5/21/I can provide a statement and e-mails that were sent showing the balance at $if needed

This resident and her mother came to us when looking for housing and began working with our leasing office....

When going through the leasing process we informed them of a Kama'aina discount we have for local Hawaii high school graduates. At first the resident and her mother were interested in doing the academic year lease which ends in May but once they found out that you had to be on the full year lease which ends in August to get the Kama'aina discount they switched. They're very aware of what they signed and they also talked the person her daughter wanted to live with into signing for the longer lease to get the kama'aina discount. We have a very well trained leasing office that is available by phone, e-mail or in person for any questions or concerns residents or their parents may have. Our rate sheet that you initial how long you would like to stay breaks everything down by month and would have showed right in front of her that it went until August. If you need me to provide any of this paper work please do not hesitate to let me know.
