Would I have this contractor do my remodeling again. Unlikely. I paid $8,000 two months in advanced and the contractor promised the Electrican and Plumber would start work the first week renovation was to start. This was not the case, the electrician did not show up over a month into the project which caused everthing to fall behind. When the travertine floor was completed, my real estate friend came in and her first two word were, NOT GOOD. I had to hirer and another tile man who I trusted, to come in to replace tile and grind down the uneven edges and repolish the travertine. The walk in shower floor did not drain properly because the contractor did not correct a large divet before the tile floor was laid and it did not drain properly, thus I had to spend another $1,000 plus to correct it. When I wanted a rock wall put in, or sound proofing, or the walk in shower, I asked give me an estimate for the cost, his response was, I will get back to you which he never did and he just went and did the job. I should have fired him. I spent alot of money on custom cabinets. I came in and had to paint the dry wall because I did not want custom cabinets going up on walls that had not been primed and the same was with the soffit. At the close of the project I have asked for receipts for the checks I wrote, license of the plumber and electrician, cost of supplies, etc and the same reply, I will get back to you. If you ask for an estimate and you are not given it, but the contractor continues with the work, this to me is not ethical. I am still waiting to get the telephone land line connection done and the response is I will get back with you. This will probably end up in arbitration. I should have never paid him the money he requested and feel is was over paid.
