Pertaining to the complaint filed on behalf of *** *** on April 8, 2016, we have reviewed our documentation and found that at the end of February, *** ***, resident of unit ***, stated she paid her rent with a money order through a locked drop box backUpon her notification, the office staff searched all records for her payment of $From February 12, through February 28, 2016, there were only three payments in the amount of $received and none of which were hers***, the Assistant Manager asked Ms*** to supply a copy of the money order so we could further research her claimMs*** said she would provide it but later informed us that she did not have the receiptAt that point, *** then asked Ms*** to go back to the place of purchase to get a copy of the money order
A payment in the amount of $was received for Ms***’s account on March 11,
The office did not receive a copy of her money order nor did we hear back from Ms*** until her boyfriend came into the office on April 8, 2016, very upset and wanting to discuss the issue*** explained to him we could not discuss Ms***’s account with anyone that was not on the lease and informed me that he had come inI then personally called Ms*** and at that time, she claimed that she had been informed that her money order had been cashedI re-iterated that we cannot help her any further to support her claim if she did not provide us with a copy of the money order or the money order numberSince that conversation, we have not heard from Ms*** and she has paid her rent up to date
Rent charges cannot be forgivenWe are required to have proof of all payments and are more than happy to help Ms*** research her claim once she provides us with the necessary documentation needed to complete an investigationUntil then, all rent charges and late fees as due as per the lease contract
