In I got scammed by Smartsnake, they called and said they worked for Microsoft and found hackers from different countries on my computerI paid the money but after further review of the complaints on said company, I immediately called my credit card company and explained situationThey agreed it was a scam and stopped $paymentNow after years I am getting harassing calls from Network Wings Smartsnake #X-XXX-XXX-XXXXThey argue with you and tell you to shut up and listen to themThat there are issues with my computer network, that I should turn on my computerThey have had access the first time when I was scammed, I am not letting them in again, as it cost me plenty to have my pc fixed to get their junk taken off and security system put back on that they blocked and destroyedPlease do not listen to their bs or that "it was not our company doing this"of course it was! Comes up on caller IDAll foreigners that have no social skills and you cannot understand themEvidently they cannot understand the word NO! Dates of calls twice on 1/30/16, 1/09/16, twice on 2/10/If you hang up, they immediately call backThis is harassment!
We signed up for "lifetime service" from Smart Snake supposedly for all our computer services and related devices For the three years or so we were involved with them, there were viruses and other problems almost every week; frequently they would call and say there was trouble with the computer, and we were too naiive to understand that they were creating the problemsSince they spent a great deal of time correcting them, we were seduced into believing they were legitWhen I asked them to use a recognized security system like Norton, they refused, and added a free deviceThe viruses and related problems continued, sometimes they tried to get more money from us to fix these: so much for lifetime serviceWhen they called and required an additional $to keep our computer safe, we finally had confirmation that it was a scam, and dropped themThey kept on calling us for months It was a nightmare
I am writing this as pushback against the CLOSED complaints and to warn people that scammers are using Smart Snake's good name to scam unsuspecting consumers
I have been a customer of Smart Snake for years nowI always do research on ANY company that makes the claims Smart Snake doesSmart Snake is legit, reliable and can be called on 24/7/for prettymuch anything
I noticed in every single complaint, Smart Snake went out of its way to resolve the reported issuesIt is written in the customer contract "you must give Smart Snake up to days to resolve the reported issue before you involve a third party"That's to avoid what's become Complaints Smart Snake now has against them via the Revdex.comThe scammers are using this knowledge to scam people
A Smart Snake technician has remotelty accessed my computer times as of today while still on the phone with me since They are professional, they are courteous and they care about your computer's health
One complaint noted the technician they talked to mentioned "signals coming from your computer" This is where the trust piece comes into play, The first time Smart Snake called me, I assumed I was about to be scammedAfter they remotely accessed my computer (with my permission), they showed me how vulnerable I really wasI thought about it and realized if they really wanted to, they could've just hijacked my hard drive but they didn'tThey not only cleaned up my computer but they they also cleaned my other one and it only took an hour totalAll of the work they did was work only someone with experience can do
I can only speak on my experience so I'll end with this: One irrefutable fact is after they worked on my computers, their performance drastically improved I had a third party check my computer after they worked on it and they confirmed nothing malicious was done to my machinesYes, the technicians are Indian but they ARE based in the US as required by law to do business in the USTheir only office is located in the United States
That said, I will email Smart Snake and ask them to take a more aaggressive approach to protect their good nameAs for how they got my number, I asked that and they found it on one of my social media pages (since removed)
I was having difficulties with my internet connection Having Norton Antivirus, I went to what I thought was their tech dept After assuring me that they could fix my computer that had "thousands and thousands of problems" they began their sales pitch
"we will service your computer with tech support for a one time fee of $for lifetime service" Telling them that I already had paid for Norton Antivirus months prior they assured me that I would receive a complete refund I gave them my credit card info and after a few hours I received an e-mail with the terms of our "agreement" It was ten that I noticed that the name of the company was Smartsnake Worse yet my name had been signed (forged) on the bottom of the contract I went ballistic on the man who called me to see if I was satisfied with the tech service they had provided Mt computer was NOT FIXED and I told them so
The next morning I went to my financial institution to freeze the credit card They told me they would help me file a dispute claim and to go home and call Smartsnake and tell them I wanted a refund They agreed readily to refund my money but after two calls and nearly two weeks I have not seen that refund on my card (By the way when you freeze a credit card it can still receive refunded payments)
Smartsnake is a total rip off and you should under NO CIRCUMSTANCES USE THIS COMPANY You have been warned !!!!!!!!!!!!!!
