He has always been very professional in our dealings with him and it is greatly appreciated! However, someone put in the comments that this occurred after the year walk through Again, this was documented prior to and never addressed but it's fixed now...just wanted to reiterate that.The pipe cover in the front yard is not fixed They must be referring to a different issue that we had with water sitting in our back yard due to our nieghbors sump pump drain that was fixed previously Regards, [redacted] *

The homeowner was advised at initial walk through and at the one year walk through to contact the flooring subcontractor regarding any flooring issueWe are not sure if that was done, regardless we contacted the subcontractor and requested that they investigate the complaintMany times the issue described results from lack of homeowner maintenanceWe are waiting for a report from the subcontractorThere was never a determination that the vinyl was “cut short” It appeared as if damage had occurred to the window after the one year walk throughRegardless, a repair was made to the window The water pipe issue was resolved prior to the complaint

Good morning.  My name is [redacted].  Below is the list of items of concern that were submitted.  The vinyl in the upstairs bathroom was supposed to be replaced.  It is cut short and separating from the caulking.The large window over the front door has a gap on the trim....

complaint. Many times the issue described results from lack of homeowner maintenance. We are waiting for a report from the subcontractor. There was never a determination that the vinyl was “cut short”.2.       It appeared as if damage had occurred to the window after the one year walk through. Regardless, a repair was made to the window.3.       The water pipe issue was resolved prior to the complaint.

Review: We closed on our house January 8th 2015. Before closing (in mid December) we stated that the ground was sinking around the house and garage and wanted it fixed before closing. We were told repeatedly that it would be fixed after we closed on the house by the end of January.. A week later after a good rain our front yard developed a large sinkhole so we again contacted them saying this needed to be fixed ASAP. We were told it would be fixed within a couple weeks due to the weather. After repeated calls and emails someone finally came out May 6th to attempt to fix our yard issues. They added dirt along the foundation walls and beside the garage as well as to the sinkhole in the front yard and put down sod. We began watering the sod that night and have watered it twice daily since but all of the sod is dead as well as most of our bushes and a tree on the side of the house. We again emailed them saying this was a problem on Monday may 11th. The response we got was we didn't water the yard so thankfully we took pictures daily of the yard showing the dead grass and everything while it was being water. We again emailed telling them this wasn't true and we just want it taken care of after waiting over 5 months but they emailed back saying they would not replace the sod. The other problem is that the mulch they put in 2 spots is a complete different color and type than the other mulch. We have had numerous problems with customer service after the sale for various different things and it's very clear after your in the house and they have the check they could care less about fixing anything.Desired Settlement: We want our front yard finished like the other new houses in the neighborhood. That's what we paid for when we bought the house and that's what we expect.

Review: We purchased a brand new home in [redacted] from Hazel Homes. During the walkthrough inspection we noticed that the grass was a bit patchy and obviously not lush, and noticed that our neighbors yards also did not look healthy. We were told to water it daily and it would fill in. After $250 water bill the first month and dragging hoses and sprinklers around the yard every morning, the entire backyard died and the front yard is terribly patchy. Both our neighbors who moved in within a few months of us also have terrible lawns. We sent a letter two months after moving is to say that we were give bad sod, but Customer Service replied after waiting for two weeks that Hazel Homes does not warranty their lawns and refused to do anything about it. After asking to speak to anyone higher than customer service, Hazel Homes refused to respond with any point of contact information other than their customer service email. Incidentally, all the empty new construction homes lawns directly across the street all have beautiful lawns with no one tending to them.Desired Settlement: Its clearly obvious that Hazel Homes delivered a defective product. The sod was bad and dying when it was laid down and never recovered despite receipts for hoses, sprinklers, and water bills showing that it was watered. For almost $480,000 for a brand new construction house, I expect a green lawn to come with the house that lasts more than a month. At the very least, leadership at Hazel Homes would show they care enough about their customers that they would come by my home and meet with me rather than hiding behind a customer service email address.
