I hired HBCLandscaping Ltd (Stouffville, On) for 2018/2019 snow removal. In August he came over to give me a quote and immediately he asked me for payment. I only asked him to get a quote, so I had no money to give him.
Service started in November and this was August when he asked me for payment. This was the first by any snow removal company. Most waited until November to ask for my money.
Long story short. I wrote him a cheque and he cashed it in November but I could not understand the rush for payment in August.
We discussed the detail of the job and he was fine with all my requests. On the first day of snow Gary never showed up. I text and text him to see when he was coming but he never replied.
I sent him a text later that evening stating that is service is so bad I would like to just cancel the service.
In the middle of t he night he sent someone to my house to clean the snow and he caused a lot of damages to my yard. I wish no one had come.
The next day (November 16) I cancelled the service and asked for my money back. He agreed and it's not Jan 5th 2019 and he has not returned my money. If Gary had returned my money, this review would never be written.

Thank you for the review. we appreciate it.
We understand that your site had specific requirements that you had requested. One being the gravel driveway at the back be plowed with snow left on the surface, and the other to coordinate getting on the property through your locked gate.
On November 15th we had sent our crews to plow our service routs. We were alerted by one of our crews That they were unsuccessful twice due to the fact that you had left your gates locked. Luckily When we made the effort the third time at midnight, the gates were unlocked. We preformed our service on your property like we would any other site. We understand you had a request to "half plow" the snow on the back portion of the lot unfortunately we don't have a setting on our equipment that allows us to do that. We clear right to the pavement.
Regarding the Payment Refund. We had a conversation over the phone where we insisted we would make a full refund. the following week we had sent out a check. Unfortunately that was when we had all experience the Canada Post Strike.
None the less Sandra we will now take further action and personal drop the refund to your residence.
Our Apologies for the poor experience that you had with HBC Landscaping Ltd, But we also require that our customers co-operate with us when there are specific Requests that are out of the normal residential contracted service that we provide.
