Initial Business Response /* (1000, 12, 2017/08/18) */
Received business response by email
[redacted] called K.D. Rogers Well Drilling because she had iron bacteria in her well. She had a garage built to close to the well to put the rig over it safely without damaging the garage. I...

suggested that we use a biodegradable iron bacteria product to break down the iron bacteria .She was told to run the water after it set in her well for 24 hours or until it cleared up. What what put in her well would not cause iron bacteria or magnese .She would never of called unless she was having problems with the well.

She said she ran it for 20 minutes because she was afraid of flooding the back yard which is in gravel. If she ran water according to our directions it of worked, and you do not need a air lift to pump it out. Reference [redacted] had no air lift you pumped it out and it worked fine.
The minerals did not change because of the biodegradable products that where in the well. If she ran the water for the time that was suggested it would of gone through the pipes in the house. And with the amount of iron and magnese in her water the dish washer, toilet etc. would of been ruined long before the products where put in her well. All this does is stop the iron bacteria from growing. She will still have iron and magnese in her water unless she puts proper treatment from a professional water treatment company.

She ran her dirty water through her house years before we treated the well. When the minerals started breaking down the iron bacteria instead of running it outside for 24 hours she ran it for 20 minutes outside then proceed to use the water from the tapes in the house. She requested we give her the names of the products we used so we did. Then she contacted several suppliers here and in Texas to find out about them. They told her they where not harmful and used quite frequently on wells. Now she at the point of not wanting to pay the bill and thinks she we are going to replace her appliances etc. She also said she was showing at her friends house before calling us

She also set up a fake account on [redacted] saying that we abandon her. Maybe she should go on [redacted] and apologize.

Initial Consumer Rebuttal /* ([redacted]0, 14, 2017/08/18) */
(The consumer indicated he/she DID NOT accept the response from the business.)
They abandoned the job as pg. 9 of product instructions said they had to airlift debris from the bottom of the well. I had to find a company to do this and I paid over $[redacted]. I had originally called to get the well drilled deeper so maybe I could get drinking water. He had done a friends 2 wells and by drilling an extra 60 ft., they got good drinking water.. I had NO bacteria, just a taste of iron but had no problems for 7 yrs.; my whites were white, no dirty water, I have no idea where he got the idea I had dirty water, he never even ran a tap nor tested pH level. I had a new toilet installed maybe 8 months ago. I can get a testimony from the plumber that the water was clear. Now this new toilet is badly stained and the tank is black inside. I had my ministers stay a number of times. They showered, did their laundry, just did not drink the water. I can get testimonies from lots of people. The people who lived here previously knew the water tasted of iron, she is a realtor in the area, I can get her testimony. As far as 'not wanting to pay the bill', he knew I was laid off until Sept. and I did pay late, doing so THIS MORNING, money order in the mail, before I even knew about his response. I never spoke to him about the bill, just wrote him that I'd be happy to pay it once the job was complete. I let him know some of my costs I encured due to the black, filthy mess coming through my taps. I agreed to this procedure and the product did what it was suppose to but [redacted] did not complete the job or respond to my correspondence, thereby abandoning the job.
[redacted] was suppose to come Mon. (after putting product in my well on Sat) to run a hose back to the well. He was going to bring one as I didn't have a hose, he also took my hose attachment and never returned it for the size of hose needed. He forgot about me (his words) and when he did return my call Tues. or Wed., said he couldn't come out as he was in Bridgewater but to run my outside tap for 24 hrs. I called the office and spoke to a woman saying I couldn't believe he started a job that he couldn't finish by going out of town. I asked her if it was safe to run my hose 24 hrs. as I had a very short hose which would run close to my house. She assured me it was okay, so I ran it for 24 hrs. I have no idea where they got that 20 min. info from, I did exactly what I was told to do. Next when I spoke, he asked how it was and I said it still smelled bad. I knew it would be awful messy, he warned me. I asked if I should run my taps now for 24 hrs. He said run them and within the hour it would clear, so I did. Days later I had no water at all so went to check the filter which was thick black and sticky. I removed it completely and then all the broken down sludge came into my house, ruining dishes, totally clogged my water softener (which I can't afford to get fixed). Staining of all toilets and sinks. 45 days total no usable water. I had a water specialist come and have pictures of the black oily water and the iron count was 25 times higher than it should be. I have most of the results but it was not an official water test. Luckily the pH was 6.5, a little low but that was the old standard.
He would not return any of my calls or emails so I had to research everything. I called [redacted], who needed what was in the product so I asked and asked, finally getting the product info that was forwarded from [redacted], a Dartmouth company I assume from where he bought it. I just wanted this fixed and called a water testing company in Windsor who found the problem, that the job was not completed as the instructions indicated.
If he HAD completed the job, I wouldn't have all the sludge going through my taps if he had done what he was suppose to do.
I spoke to no one in Texas, I did get a suggested retail price from a dealer out West as [redacted] originally said it would be $[redacted] and then charged $[redacted] (suggested retail approx. $[redacted]). As nothing that [redacted] wrote up above is true, it doesn't even sound like the same job! I don't know what he's talking about showing at a friends house, oh, maybe showering as that's what I had to do. Also take wash to the laundry mat. I have all correspondence and have copies for anyone who'd like to see them. Some from my work e-mail, some from my home e-mail. I wanted everything in writing and glad I do.
The product, [redacted], did exactly what it was suppose to do, [redacted] did not follow product instructions, causing all this mess in my pipes.
He also said he was bringing out the president of the Well association (have no idea why) and someone from the Environment and that there will be a charge to me for this. I said I didn't ask for him to come out and I would not pay for something I didn't order; I also provided him the name of the person I had contacted from [redacted] if he wanted to use the same person from Kentville. I contacted the Well Association to provide them any information they needed, but they said they were not aware of any appointment to check my well. All documented with email correspondence.
I reported him to the Revdex.com as I was unhappy and they did not complete the job. I stand by this and have all correspondence to back this up.
Final Business Response /* ([redacted]0, 21, 2017/08/28) */
[redacted] said she ran the water for 20 minutes regardless of what she is saying now. like I said before if she ran the water for 24 hours it wouldn't have gone through the pipes in the house it would've drained out in the backyard that why she was told to run it for 24 hours.
We did not do a follow up appointment with environment and the well association because she didn't want to pay for a service call.
She didn't answer any of her return phone calls because she only used the office phone at her work which was until the end of June .[redacted] doesn't always have the time to make calls between 8 and 3 PM
And as for getting a quote from a company out west that really has nothing to do with the province of Nova Scotia their rules and regulations are different from ours.
And like I said before you don't call someone to fix your well if there's no problems with it.
[redacted] did not follow the instructions given to run her water for 24 hours that's why she has a mess in her tapes.
There was no job to complete she was to turn the tap on and let it run. Like I had said before that products do not change the count of iron or magnesium in your well you need a product specialist to install an iron filter to remove any iron in the water. You cannot change the minerals in water with products you can call any well driller, plumber ,water hydrologist and they will tell you that.
She keeps saying that we didn't complete that job and all she had to do was to turn on the tap. Did she really think that [redacted] was going to come down and turn her tap on for her and stand there and watch it run for 24 hours. [redacted] did not take the end of her hose as she claims he did.
This sounds to me like a he said she said game. There will not be any cleaning or any new appliances or anything else replaced in the home.
