working has been deemed a fire hazard and we have the work order that's states that.

VIP has been in contact with the tenant to resolve his issues and dispute. For the record the home was advertised with a fireplace but it was not indicated that it was a working fireplace. VIP was not aware until after an independent service tech was sent to the property for an inspection. The owner of the property (VIP just manages the property) has declined the $3,480 repair for the chimney at this time.In regards to the HVAC - the prior tenant (Occupant from 8/15-8/16) never requested any services regarding the heat or air conditioning. There is no way we would know that there were issues with the furnace. The owner upon receipt of notice that the furnace needed replaced approved the $2356.25 repair and the repair was made within 4 days. Space heaters were offered in the interim.We have offered the tenant compensation (rent relief) for his inconvenience.

When the home was listed for rent in the description it said "beautiful fireplace"we have pictures of the listing.  Also when looking at the home Christina the agent said it was working and would be great for winter. To try and dodge responsibility for lack of maintenance on the home due to the prior tenants not caring is absurd and I can't believe you would try and claim you had no idea. I don't believe you understand that this fireplace that we were never told DID NOT work either is a fire hazard and that is the direct opinion of the professional that inspected it. We have made a counter offer to VIP and will await their response.
