Complaint: [redacted] I am rejecting this response because: MrH [redacted] claims that my new contractor gave him the impression he was working hourly However, he (MrH***) performed labor specified on his original bid, and gave us an invoice that directly reflected the pricing on that bid The bid was not in terms of hours, it had specific pricing, such as "Rough in waste and vent piping ($528)" and "Rough in water piping ($252)" and "Fuel gas piping ($450)" These were the exact amounts bid and billed, and there was no hourly data on them I must also point out that my new contractor would never have made such a suggestion He was clear that subcontractors should communicate directly with me on all billing I had no communication whatsoever about billing with MrH [redacted] aside from the bid It is only the final bid item that MrH [redacted] is trying to charge us hourly for This was trim installation The bid amount was $1380, and he is charging us $ This is to install toilets and connect sink faucets It is clearly an excessive and egregious over-charge MrH [redacted] claims that this was a difficult situation for me, which I don't understand The project went smoothly, my new contractor did an excellent job, I dealt with many other subcontractors and all of them did the work they said they would for the price they said they would Only MrH [redacted] is having the difficulty He also claims the scope of the work changed There were two changes and both were explicit and were included on his invoice He claims to have done additional work that he didn't bill us for, which is not true, and you will notice that there are no specifics in his reply He made the same claim to me directly, and could not respond when I asked him to specify this work Sincerely, [redacted]
