Healing Hands Massage Institution Reviews (%countItem)

I was interested in going to the school so I set an appointment to have a tour of the institution well while I was there the lady at the front desk who also gave me the tour told me that I didn't have to pay any monthly payments for the school and that the tuition was only $2,700 for the scholarship program of 550 hours well fast forward to the first week of class *** ( the owner ) spoke to everyone one by one in an office and told everyone if you do not make a payment of $290 a month you cannot attend this school and spoke ill of the lady upfront stating she doesn't know what she's talking about she is being dealt with and that all of her information was wrong I proceeded to tell *** that I didn't have the funds because that's not what I was told and I have other bills outside of the program so the extra fees would break my budget limit he sends me back to class and says he will speak with me another day and come to an agreement of payment unfortunately he never kept his word of speaking with me about an agreement so one day I walk into class and another gentleman by the name of Joe ask me for the payment of $290 I told him *** and I still have yet to have a discussion because that payment is outside of my budget he then proceeds to tell me to leave and not to come back unless I have the money in hand I ask him to call the owner who tells joe to tell me ( over the phone !) to notify me to either pay the money or have the cops called on me due to insufficient funds the next day *** finally agreed to talk to me in the meeting *** and I come to an agreement of $100 a month I pay the fee right then and there he tells me everything is good and to go back to class few weeks later we go on Christmas break which would be our second full month at this point we arrive back on January 6th 2020 I walk into school then the classroom my teacher tells me to go with Joe to the front when in the front Joe tells me to wait on *** few seconds go by and *** calls me into his office I walk in he shuts the door he then says ? I thought we had an agreement of $100 a month ? I say we do ? he then In A very hostile manner tells me I'm 'three months behind? even though we've been in school for two months when I ask him ? what are you talking about ? he then opens the door and tells me ? if you don't have the $300 then you need to get out ! And do not come back until you have the money? not sure how I'm three months behind I keep asking over and over again for him to explain how I'm three months behind when we've only been in school for two months in a very hostile manor he proceeds to tell me to ? leave once more or he will call the cops ? I step out of the office and proceed to ask him to explain everything so we can be on the same page he then calls the cops he tells them I'm being ? Aggressive ? and ? I'm a threat to him? while he calls the cops I'm patiently waiting on him to answer all the officers questions when he is finished he then try's to slam the door in my face but before he could put any force in the door I put my hand on it and ask him again to please explain everything to me he tells me that when the 'cops arrive he's having me arrested because I'm aggressive and a threat? I step away from the door he slams it my face my Professor Glenn comes from the classroom and proceeds to tell me I'm 'aggressive? and a 'threat? I quickly realize this situation is fishy because no yelling was involved just an abnormal amount of hostility from *** so there's no way he could hear what was being said *** then proceeds to tell me not to worry about anything because over the Christmas break he had already filed my paper work and has already expelled me from the program and that he will be sending my tuition to collections even though I didn't have a chance to complete the program

Desired Outcome

Other (requires explanation) Do not send my tuition to collections due to the fact I didn't finish the program

has the honor of being the first student I've had to call the police on. This is a massage school, and not a place for violence.

I do want to point out that even the most basic of facts in this complaint are incorrect. We do not offer a 550 hour program (nor are we approved to it) nor do we have any programs that cost $2700.

***'s paperwork shows that he signed up for the 570 hour program, at a cost of $2900, we typically offer this program for $290 per month for 10 months. I did attempt to work with *** after he defaulted on his payments, but he continued to fall behind on even the modest amount I had set.

*** did sign a contractual agreement with a refund tuition policy matching that of the state of Texas. He does not owe the full amount, but I do intend to collect.

I am not unsympathetic to hardships, and have been known to give away free tuition to students, ***'s attitude both in the classroom and in dealing with his financial situation does not fill me with a generous spirit.

The front desk employee stated that there was a $2,700 program with no monthly payments necessary that's not something I came up with but simply I was misinformed. As for the 10 months of $290/ month is false information. The schools duration is five months and was told by *** ( teacher ) and *** ( owner ) that I couldn't get any transcripts until the tuition was paid in full no matter how long your finances took to pay it off. *** told me that I hadn't paid for the months of October, November or December. My semester started October 17th therefore November 17th would be the first month of school. In which I did make a payment. I have a receipt and audio of our agreement of $100/ month which in the end *** states that I was good and could continue with my education at the institution. As for the month of December I did not make a payment due to the fact we had a Christmas break so I figured I'll just pay when we get back to school it's not a problem as long as I have the money when I walk through the door. Jan 6th was the first day back from the new year. *** stated I was three months behind and over the break without calling or notifying me he filled my papers and expelled me from the institution and that I couldn't ever come back rather I had the money or not. I want *** to explain how I had an attitude in class and who I had it with because everyone in the class enjoyed my presence. The students even created a group chat which the class is predominantly woman so if I was rude they would have never included me into the chat. I would like to know why *** wants me to pay all of the tuition when in his response he stated that in the contract that *** and I signed does not require me to pay all of the tuition under the policy of the state of Texas. But he still intends to collect which would be tuition I'm not in school for since we pay monthly. As for my last point to make at the beginning of Andrews response states that I was the first student he ever had to call the police on. Glenn ( teacher) told everyone in class that the institution has called the police before on multiple students regarding different altercations. *** being included.

Most of this seems irrelevant to the issue at hand. I've attached an excerpt of the signed contract showing what was signed up for (which also shows we don't even have a $2700 program).

This is a regulated industry. Hours were be charged and refunded in a manner identical to the laws prescribed by the state of Texas.

Keep in mind schools generally do not refund your money just because you didn't graduate.

In the documentation provided I personally never signed anything of that nature my name isn't even on the documentation so it's clearly made up and *** refused to answer any of my questions and on my final note I've never asked for a refund so I don't know where the accusations came from as long as healing hands says that they agree to leave all of this alone and to not come after me for tuition that the state of Texas claims I do not have to pay then I'm satisfied
