covered under manufacturer warranty if they do because component manufacturers do not cover physical damage as part of their standard warranty. On 9/*/2014, 10 days after leaving the store with his repaired device, the customer returned to our store at approximately 5:15PM with his mother, claiming that he had received a text message while the phone was in his pocket and the screen cracked. While we have no knowledge of how the phone was handled in the course of that 10 days, we observed a physically cracked screen that does not meet warranty standards if we tried to return it to the manufacturer for exchange, so it would require us to purchase a new replacement from them in order to repair the complainant's screen again. The screen wa s durable enough to survive shipping from the manufacturers facility, installation in the phone, and 10 days of active use in the customers possession. Through extensive research, we have also yet to turn up a documented case in which a text message was able to physically break a glass screen or LCD. However as an exception and courtesy, we offered to reduce the repair cost of the customers 5C screen from $109 to $69, which we would still honor. The complainant said that unless the discount was $100 they would take us to court and refused our offer.

Review: My iPhone 5c fell about a week ago and the screen was smashed. My mother took it to Healix for me, the next day, and it cost 100 dollars to put in a new screen. It cost a hundred dollars because, they said, they used apple screens. Today I texted my friend while at work and put my phone in my pocket, a mere moment later, when I received a response from my friend, I took my phone out to find the screen cracked. I had hardly moved and could not have touched into anything. I brought the phone back to Healix to be repaired or to get a refund and was told, by someone claiming to be the [redacted], that the best he could do was repair the phone again for the discounted price of 69 dollars. I don't believe that they are in fact using apple screens because an apple screen would not crack from receiving a text message, this may be a an advertising issue. I put the complaint type as repair however because it is just as likely that the screen was improperly installed. I know they is no way to prove that my phone broke simply in my pocket but this 'business' should not be allowed to get away with charging anyone 100 dollars to fix a screen and then simply charge them more when the screen breaks because they didn't properly install it, if it was in fact an apple screen. Please help, I will also be filling in small claims court. These people are thieves as far as I'm concerned.Desired Settlement: I want my money back, but more importantly I want someone to stop these people from doing this to future costumers.
