Health New England categorized my husband's visit to medical office to do a Presurgical Assessment as an office visit, and subject to copay. In Novemner 2013 Dr Paul Silverstein received medical test indicating my husband had kidney stones and needed surgery. He saw the doctor on Dec 4, but the doctor had him come back on Dec 5 for a Presurgical Assessment. In my view the doctor had all necessary medical information at hand and the second visit was unnecessary. Nonetheless, HNE paid part of the cost but considered this an office visit subject to copay. We are well aware when we request a medical appointment there could be a copay, but this was not something we requested and was not an office visit.
