HealthPlus Amerigroup Reviews (2)

Review: My Kids Child Health Plus health insurance was transferred from Empire to Health Plus Amerigroup on 7/*/13. I received a notice on 8/*/2013 that I was being canceled for none payment. This is an error and I have provided the proof that I am not only paid in full, but should have had a credit balance. Now I am out thousands of dollars in doctors bills. I have made over 50 calls and there is still no resolution.Desired Settlement: I want my insurance reinstated back to 7/*/13 and the bills that I incurred to be paid!

Response:

This is in response to your inquiry received on October **, 3013 regarding the above mentioned members. You asked that Healthplus Amerigroup to investigate the allegations made by the above parent regarding his children's eligibility and benefits. Our records indicate that the Plan previously received this complaint from the New York State Department of Financial Services in October.

The Pescatore children have been in Healthplus Child Health Plus product since the integration from Blue Cross Blue Shield (BCBS) since July *, 2013. Disenrollment on July **,2013, was due to lack of sufficient funds. Members were received from Empire BCBS through the phase II merge with a grace period of July.

A transfer payments from Empire BCBS was received on June **, 2013, in the amount of $18.00 and then on June **, 2013, for the amount of $9.00. On July **, 2013, an additional payment in the amount of $54.00 was received. Since the member was on a grace period of July with only $81.00 paid of the $90.00 total owed, the member was terminated for failure to pay monthly premium.

On August *, 2013, the Plan received another payment transfer from Empire BCBS of $36.00. On September *, 2013, additional payment in the amount of $90.00 was received. On September **, 2013, another payment of $90.00 was received. The members were reinstated on July **, 2013, with a credit of $27.00s. A payment in the amount of $63.00 was made for October. Therefore, the October premium was paid in full. The member will be receiving an invoice (system generated) in the first week of October for November and December's premium.

HealthPlus Amerigroup received three (3) claims for [redacted]. All claims were reprocessed and paid. We also received one (1) claim for [redacted] which was also reprocessed and paid. Three claims for [redacted] were received and paid.

Thank you.

Review: I closed my practice in May 2013 and informed all insurance companies, including HealthPlus Amerigroup of the same at that time. Unfortunately, for the past year, I have continued to receive correspondence from HealthPlus Amerigroup with Provider Bulletins as well as sensitive patient information. I called their provider relations dept at least 12 times in the past year and was finally connected to [redacted] ###-###-#### on April *, 2014. At her request, I again submitted a written request to stop receiving correspondence from their organization. On April **, 2014, I received a phone call stating that I was finally removed from their system as a provider, as I had requested, on April **, 2014. I thought this matter was resolved. Unfortunately, I have continued to receive correspondence at my old practice address, where the mail is forwarded to me. The most recent mailing I received was yesterday, May **, 2014, postmarked May *, 2014. I contacted [redacted] again on May * after receiving a letter from their organization informing her that I am continuing to receive correspondence. I even included a scanned copy of the mailed envelope with the postmark date clearly visible. Part of her email response was "I am not sure why you are receiving correspondence from the organization. Thank you.[redacted]HealthPlus, an Amerigroup CompanyProvider Relations Department[redacted]Phone: ###-###-#### Ext [redacted]Fax:###-###-####" I find this answer by [redacted] unacceptable. She did not state she would look into the matter and have it resolved, or anything to that effect. As my efforts for the past 12 months have had no results in stopping correspondence from HealthPlus Amerigroup, some of which continues to include HIPAA sensitive patient information, I am writing to the Revdex.com for help.Desired Settlement: Please have HealthPlus Amerigroup stop written correspondence to my old office address I closed my practice 1 year ago.
