As was responded to her first complaint HBS responded within hours of her phone call in one of the heaviest blizzards of the year (please see details above). We actually waived her emergency charge of only $65 only to have the serviceman badmouthed after he left. Homeowner continues to make accusations against our personnel despite written documents saying otherwise (please see attached above). We have done over and above to try to satisfy her. Again, as the owner of Healthy Basement Systems I apologize to any future customers in reading this... we provide WOW service to all our customers... even homeowners of this magnitude.

[redacted] evidently had issues with her pumps on a [redacted] as she does have an extremely active system because of her high water table. She left several messages in our service department that night and called first thing on [redacted] just as one our office staff was walking in....

She explained the situation DEMANDING we get there within 30 minutes and we explained we would need to get her file to check on the kind of equipment she had so we know how best help her. This day was the day of the blizzard and our staff did their best to come into work and take care of any issues our customers may have had. When we called back she had her plumber and firemen there to assist her and she stated that she did not want to deal with us any longer and hung up on our Service Representative this only an hour from when we took her call. She then called back shortly after saying her WaterWatch alarm was going off indicating there was water and yes, the alarm is purposely loud so homeowners can hear it upstairs. We had just serviced her alarm and pump in April, as she references, and we put fresh batteries in so the alarm was doing exactly what it was designed to do. WE DID NOT REPLACE HER PUMP (please see attached invoice) and she knows that fact. Because of the weather conditions and location of the service men we were not able to get to her immediately as she demanded when she hung up on us. When she called us about the alarm we told her that one of the foreman, [redacted], will come in his personal car to shut the alarm which was simply to pick it up off the lid which she refused to do. Despite the blizzard conditions, [redacted] went all the way to [redacted] for her knocked on the door, introduced himself and showed her how to pick up the alarm which took all of 5 seconds. She was very thankful that the alarm stopped but not thankful that someone weathered the storm personally from the company to assist her.  [redacted] history looks similar to this complaint over the years. If there is anything she needs she demands we are there at unreasonable times and despite our best efforts [redacted] always has something not nice to say. It grieves me as an owner that my staff who gives every one of our customers the best service possible, has to be spoken to rudely, hung up on, and asked to do things that are totally unrealistic. To all our potential customers who read this, please know that our staff is fully committed to having satisfied customers and our policy of WOW service has helped thousands of our customers over the last 10 years. Respectfully, we are asking Revdex.com to withdraw this complaint as unreasonable and not factual. Attached are some documents to show Healthy Basements’ commitment to service for her.

We used Healthy Basement for our home in Suffolk County. They did the work on schedule and within budget. They first determined the problem, recommended solutions and proceeded. There have been no problems in the 10 years since they worked on our basement and we have them come back for periodic tune-ups. We were very satisfied with the service and the people who performed the work.

Review: Healthy Basement installed a sub pump and did some drainage work in our basement. The day after the pump was installed the cement around it all cracked the pump sunk deeper into the floor where the hole was made. The technician returned and said it was fine, and said the pump was ready to go in case of rain, didn't need to be turned on or plugged in, was all set (we specifically asked if anything at all needed to be done for it to work since we rely on hired professionals for this and are not skilled in the area of basement sub pumps). Again the technician assured us it was in working order and nothing at all needed to be done in the event of rain or water. Weeks later it rained, pump failed to work as signaled by the alarm, and basement flooded and ruined over $3,000 of furniture in the basement. Technician returned 24 hours after being called and said the pump was never plugged in properly. We personally had to dump the 100+ gallons of water that had flooded the basement. We complained to the company and requested partial compensation for the ruined furniture that was the fault of the technician who did not properly install the pump, company refused to compensate any amount of money for damages caused by their faulty installation.Desired Settlement: We request compensation for at least partial replacement for the couch and items we had to throw out after being ruined by flood water resulting from the improper installation of the pump by the Healthy Basement technician who did the installation. Additionally, we demand the cracked cement which was never fixed, and cracked within hours of initial installation, be fixed.

Response:

This is in response to [redacted] sump pump installation on 2/**/14 as not working. According to [redacted], the [redacted] told him that the pump was plugged in but it really wasn't so the basement got flooded and that the cement around the sump pump settled and needed some repair. HBS protocol is to test the pumps after installation to ensure operation. This does require the pumps to be "plugged in". This procedure was done as per our [redacted]. When [redacted] called complaining that there was water in the basement after a rain we immediately sent our service technician out to evaluate the problem on 5/*/14 which was 3 months AFTER installation. Mike our service tech found that the pump was not plugged in. In addition, he found water coming from the chimney which needed a chimney company to repair (please see attachment). My question would be why would not [redacted] check the sump pump if there was water on his floor. A simple inspection would have easily seen an "unplugged" pump. We are not sure why 3 months later we are accused of not plugging in pumps.

As far as the cement repair... this has NO effect on the operation of the pump. It is more cosmetic than anything as the cement settled slightly around the pump. We have tried to arrange for this to be done for him and in fact we were out there 4/** to permanently install his discharge line (there was snow outside at time of install and it was temporary) of which we wanted to do the repair then, but [redacted] was not home so we did the discharge line, called him and asked him to call to schedule the cement repair when he would be home as it would only take 15 to 20 minutes to do. He has never called to schedule.

HBS respectfully request this complaint be dropped as our company has done all that was contracted and responded to every call and concern [redacted] in a timely fashion. HBS is ready to schedule the cement repair just as soon as he can give us some dates he is available.

Review: Healthy Basement Systems has a sales pitch that persuades their customers that they are the best at handlings water leaks and mold in your basement. I have water leaking in my basement and no one is able to find where the leak is coming from. [redacted] of Healthy Basements Systems assured me that they would be able to solve the problem. I was asked to give them a payment of $870 which would go towards the work. They then suggested that I find someone to seal up the cracks around the house. I was under the impression that everything would be included to rectify the initial problem. I called Healthy Basement to postpone the work because I did not found anyone to do the job of filling the cracks around the foundation . After postponing the work I was told by the original sales person who initally stated he could do the work regarding sealing the holes, now say that he could do it. He was going to then charge it as an additional job. I requested my money back because initially I was told that they were going to fix everything to solve the problem. After the down payment, they informed me that they could not do that work of sealing the holes around the house, And now thay want to charge it as a separatre job. At that point I did not trust them. I then asked them to refund my down payment. There was nothing in the contract that stipulated I could not receive a total refund. They also informed me that they give free quotes. ..I then visited the location and made a conferral with [redacted] at that point I requested a refund..[redacted] looked up my information then stated that I gave them a $400.00 down payment. I then showed her a copy of my canceled check to Healthy Basement in the amount of $870.00. She then stated that a check would be sent to me by mail in that amount. . I received a check on November **, 2013 for a sum of $360.30 U.S. Currency with an invoice with a deduction fee of $75.00 for a Pre - Inspection Fee . $434.70 for a 10% Restocking Fee . After I requested a refund I was informed of all these fees when I recieved this check but not on the initial sale and I did not sign any contract that initially stated that I had to pay these fees if I requested a refund. I called the [redacted] and she stated that they didn't have to give me anything... I am also planning to settle this unfair matter in smalls claims court.. I thought Healthy Basement had a good reputation but now I see they manipulate their customers into buying and installing expensive products that they do not need to fix their problems and when you discover their fraudulent practice they come up with things that you did not agree to inorder to steal your money/deposit ...Desired Settlement: I am requesting Healthy Basement to return my money back that they stole from me in the amount of $509.00. Thank You!

December **, 2013

I own a home in Suffolk County. We had water in the basement and called Healthy Basement - they came on time and reviewed the problem. They offered their solution and cost associated with it. We agreed on a price and timetable for the work.

The workers came on time and finished on time and the price was as quoted. We have had the system for 10 years now without any issues. We have a back-up safety system which they check very year or so. Work has always been good and customer service has been responsive.

Review: In Apr. 2014 I called HBS reporting a basement sump pump constantly running. Apr. ** "[redacted]" a serviceman, no longer employed by HBS, came to service the unit. He apologized for being late, complained about overwork and too much territory to cover. He checked the unit and told me he was replacing one of the pumps. I trusted he did the job correctly. My husband who had recently died usually handles this.

[redacted], Feb. [redacted], [redacted], a piercing alarm was screaming from my basement. I ran down and found smoke coming out of the sump pump area and water flooding the floor around the area. I called the Fire Dept. Three firemen came, pulled out electrical connections, removed smoking pumps from the water, determined the discharge line from the sump was blocked causing pumps to overwork and burn out. Told me to call plumber ASAP. The water continued to rise. I called HBS at approx. [redacted] and left voicemail for opening of business the next day describing the EMERGENCY.

Next morning, 2" of water covering entire basement floor, alarm screaming, furnace in danger of being flooded, I called HBS again. They had to check their records, would call in 15 minutes. 30 minutes later, I called again and was told a serviceman would be available [redacted]. Their serviceman was out further on ** and was unavailable. Again I described the urgency. Again I was told no one was available. I explained I would file a complaint with the Revdex.com re. their lack of skilled personnel to service equipment they had installed and sold service on by citing their stellar rating with the Revdex.com.

I called a local plumber the Fire Dept. had recommended and he was in transit almost immediately. He sent men ahead to clear and flush the blocked discharge line and arrived with new pumps. The scene was chaotic with several inches of water, small items floating and the alarm still screaming. It was then that I received a call from HBS. They wanted to send a man over. I explained I had a plumber working. [redacted], the rep who called, was shocked I had someone else working on "their pumps". It was laughable, if I wasn't so angry. I did want to know how to shut off the alarm. The sound was so awful. [redacted], the serviceman got on the phone and started describing the alarm and was cut off by [redacted] who insisted on sending him to the house to quiet the alarm. I assumed this was a courtesy to mollify me and ward off a complaint to the Revdex.com. [redacted] came, he went to the basement and picked out of the water something that looked like a child's top. It was approx. 5" in total and was floating in the debris. It was a water activated, unattached float that stops screaming when removed from water. It was such a relief from the piercing sound everyone thanked him. He left the basement, got back in his vehicle and left only to return to have me sign a service record that had no fee posted, just and indication he was there.

I mention this because after the flooding was under control and the mopping up and throwing out was over, I decided not to pursue the complaint to the Revdex.com. However, today I received a phone call from [redacted] at HBS asking me why I did not pay the $65 bill she sent out on Feb.*. I told her I had not received a bill, and if she were to send one I would not pay it. HBS was unresponsive to several phone calls for assistance in a desperate situation and only when a threat of a complaint to the Revdex.com was presented did they respond. At that point it was too late. The [redacted] and the plumber they suggested to assist me were the true professionals.Desired Settlement: A refund of the Annual System Service of April **, 2014 in which the pump system and discharge lines were not properly inspected and a reimbursement for the emergency services that had to be performed as a result. I will be more than willing to provided bills as required.

I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID# [redacted], and have determined that my complaint has NOT been resolved because:

In the response to my complaint HBS distorted the facts which can be verified by the report of the [redacted] Fire Dept. and the plumber who responded to the emergency. HBS also included a copy of the service record from the call I made in April 2014.The service report of April 2014 indicated that a new battery had been placed in the alarm. In the lower left hand side, it also showed a check list to be completed by the service technician. None of the service boxes were checked, most especially the pump and the clean out of the discharge line which would have averted the burning out of the pumps in the Triple Safe Sump Pump System and the consequent flooding of the basement.I was told by the serviceman that a new pump had been installed. I trusted his word. I did not verify. I am guilty of a classic, trusting consumer mistake of signing a document I did not read. Take note: READ and VERIFY. I do not think that absolves HBS from the annual service charge or resulting expense. Their man did not fulfill the required checklist for proper service. I was charged for the installation of a 9 volt battery, which I can verify worked very well. The pumps on the other hand burned out because they weren't properly serviced, the discharge line was clogged adding significantly to the ability of the pumps to function resulting in a near catastrophe. The serviceman had told me he was overworked and had too much territory to cover. I can only assume based on the service report that he took the easy, quickest way to finish his service call. Sincerely,

I had water in my basement in Suffolk County. Healthy Basement cam on schedule and reviewed the problem. They presented different options with clear pricing. When th work was to be done they came on schedule. It took the amount of time they had estimated and the price did not change. This was more than 10 years ago and we have not had nay problems. They come in periodically to service the system and all is working fine. I would recommend them for your problem..

Review: In May 2014 , we have replaced our old Window Well system to the Healthy basement Sun house system, we had water coming in through a basement Window in a heavy rain situation. The Sales person of Healthy Basement system ,[redacted] came over to check out our place and spent more than an hour to explain how we can keep our basement dry through their system.

I was very impressed on his sales speech, but I could not realize that their actual product is a [redacted] and the difference between his sales talk and the actual product.

We did install the sun house systems after 2 days of his great sales speech. The day technician came in, they did not have enough stones and also caulking was not ready to perform the job. I had to run to [redacted] to buy more stones, I did not mind because ultimately it's my house and I wanted them to do the job perfectly.

Last night when we came home, we saw that our basement with full of water which was coming through the Sun house system we had installed 6 months back just with a 1-2 inches of rain. I really don't know what is going to be if there is a couple inches of rain in the future.

Immediately first thing in the morning, I called the company and the receptionist picked up the phone. I have described the whole situation we have with the present Sun house system with full of water and the system is sealed with the lid. I had requested them to send the service people and take care of the situation as it was sealed and I could not do anything myself.

After couple of hours, I called them again to find out the status whether any one is coming to address the issue. Another receptionist picked up the phone and explained me that we did not install the water safe guard, so they cannot give us a guarantee that our System will hold the water coming inside the basement. Now Another story???? Reallyyyy???

My question is if you cannot provide something to stop the water coming inside then why the [redacted] did you refer the product and made as spend couple of grand? Is that something decorative for the house? We did not need that!!!

When you have an issue with your existing client, it's not something you should at least go and take a look? But it feels like they get this kind of call every day, so it was not a surprise for them.

Please BE AWARE OF HEALTHY SYSTEM and their fake Sun House System. It is a Con. Crappy Product , No Service...do not waste your money.

I saw some other complaints about the company on the internet also and my recommendation to the new customers before even you call the company think twice. Its [redacted] product they are using.Desired Settlement: We need our money back the product we have installed which is not working
