In April of this year, I paid for a paid of progressive and transition glasses. I received a paid of glasses that I could not see through. I called Healthy Eyes and explained that I could not see through the lenses, that they were giving me bad headaches and causing dizziness. Since that time, I have been back to the office 4 or 5 times and called repeatedly. The office manager took my measurements and said she was cutting my lenses while I waited, however upon seeing the optician (whom I had to see twice) I was told me that the initial measurements were not accurate and that the office manager never cut lenses and he couldn't imagine why she said she did. He promised that he would expedite my receipt of the lenses. Since then, I have repeatedly been told that there was a problem with their off-site lab and that my glasses would be over-nighted. Each time I call I have been told that there was yet another problem with the lab, but my glasses would be over-nighted. As of this writing, it has not happened. Finally, in frustration, I said I wanted my money back. I then met with the optometrist, who told me she would personally look into the matter and if she could not resolve it by the end of the week (last Friday), she would return my money. On that Friday I called, only to be told that the optometrist was not in and I would have to wait to speak with her. I was never able to speak with her again. I still do not have the glasses I paid for in April and am now forced to pay for another eye exam and more glasses because I still have no glasses and I CANNOT SEE. I've worn glasses since I was a child and never have I encountered this degree of unprofessional behavior. This business seems to say anything to get you out of the office or off of the phone, but they do nothing to resolve the issue. All in all, a horrible experience that for me is not over yet. Shame on them.

Review: I had an appointment w/ this business @ 5:00pm I went to the appointment 15 minutes early filled out the necessary paperwork and waited for over an hour and 15 minutes to get service....the funny was, I was the only customer there. After that time, I felt that this was unsatisfactory service and left because I had other commitments that I had to attend to. A few days later I went to another eye doctor and they advised me that I had already used my yearly eye exam and was charged by Healthy Eyes, so apparently they charged my insurance even though they did nothing for me....I didn't even get to see a doctors there @ Healthy Eyes. I'm amazed by the fact that they were so quick to charge my insurance coverage and they didn't provide my with any type of service, other than waiting in their empty waiting room for over an hour. They had never contacted me to reschedule an appointment or to find out my concerns, instead they charged my insurance company as if they performed some type of service to me. Basically, the robbed me and committed fraud against my insurance company.Desired Settlement: I expect an apology from that company and a refund to my insurance company, so that I can go to another eye doctor and get a pair of glasses.



It is usual and customary practice that medical offices attain preauthorization to provide service and possible materials for newly appointed patients, prior to their actual date of visit. Such authorization was attained for this patient's schedule day of visit.

As commonly done, all patients are pretested before completing patient examination with the doctor by the doctor’s assistant. This patient was pretested and placed into the examination room to await his turn to be seen by the doctor. He was the next patient to be seen. The patient walked out of the room and explained to the receptionist that he was unable to wait any longer and left the office. He did not show any signs of dissatisfaction. Since our office did not meet the this patient’s expected time, we did not file any claim against this patient's insurance, so he is free to see another optometrist of his choosing with his benefits intact.

In regards to his desired settlement we have expressed the same information to this patient and extended our apology for any inconvenience he may have experienced and we regret that we were not able to service him timely. The patient was also made aware that his insurance was never billed and therefore no fraud was committed. Our office has offered him an appointment and he refused to schedule one, therefore our office has concluded any further service to this patient and he was informed that he is free to get comparable services elsewhere using all his vision insurance benefits available to him.
