Review: The company misleads the business owner into thinking the ad will be seen by a larger viewing population than is true. They lied about the location of the ad/magazine, about the Television commercials that would air and for how many times it would air, about how many issues would be available to the public, about the ad magazine being available in stop n shop stores at every entrance, exit and cashier check-out stand. The truth is that the ad/magazine is on the floor in 1 spot only where no one will ever see it.Being a small business owner and the costs of advertising being so expensive, this is extremely and completely unfair as well as very costly. I made several payments until I became aware of this and then stopped any further payments. Many Other business owners in our town have come to me with all the same complaints!!!! I am not alone in this mess. I immediately thought I was taken for a fool by paying them. I felt that I have been scammed.Desired Settlement: I wish to cease payment to a company that does not hold up their end of the agreement made by their salesman. I feel my consumer rights have been violated and I have been lied to,mistreated, robbed, and wish for them to stop calling me and verbally harassing me on the phone as well. They also threatened me on the phone "we will come after you". I feel as though I will never get back the down payments I have already made, since they are harassing me for more payments and now using scare tactics!

Review: [redacted] the sales rep for Healthy & Happy Living Magazine based out of Simi Valley in CA contacted me

out of the blue right after I opened my business in March 2014. By phone he told me he could give me a

full page ad in color every month. I thought that was great and would help my new ultrasound business.

I am 23 and I graduated in June of 2013 and opened an elective preventative ultrasound screening

business in March of 2014. He called me again and told me circulation figures and what a wide customer

base they had and that they had thousands of subscribers, businesses that distributed the magazine for

free to the public. I asked him to meet with me and my Mom so we could get more information. We set

up a time and a few days later he came to my mom's job to show us the magazines literature and pick up a deposit check for $149 to lock in the price quote. He came in a BMW and he never even got out of his car, he told me to sign the quote to lock in the price and give him a $149 deposit check ( that was from my Mom). He did not give me a copy of what I signed because he told me he was in a rush to get to his next appointment and would mail it and the magazine circulation literature to me. I stupidly trusted him. We never received anything in the mail, he cashed our check and then disappeared. He had no ad proofs from us, no information about our business, no pictures of me or my business location or office with has never been an ad run, and the business won't resolve the issue. They are sending me billing and collection notices for $1300.00 (please see attached). My mom and I have both called and written several times to request a refund of our $149. The company does not respond. I feel like they stole my $149. Thank you very much for any assistance you can give us.

Sincerely,

Julianna VíllacresesDesired Settlement: My mom and I have both called and written several times to request a refund of our $149.

Review: Through email and phone conversations I was sold an advertising spot for my business, Zin-Zen Yoga, in a magazine that was supposedly going to be at a Market Basket location in the town where my business is located. I was told this magazine is available at all entrances and exits and at the cash register check out areas. In the contract it states that the "Publisher reserves the right to transfer any issues of magazine to the nearest available point of availability in the event that the agreed distribution point of availability closes or becomes unavailable as a point of distribution." The publisher apparently never had an agreement with Market Basket to begin with and my advertisement was never distributed at the agreed upon location. After I notified the publisher that no one in Market Basket had ever even heard of them, I then received a letter saying the distribution point had changed. The new location is a Hannaford Grocery store on the border of town, in an area with a very different customer base. The magazine is only displayed at one location, at the exit, in a small rack behind a bunch of grocery carts. It is not at all as accessible to customers as I was lead to believe. I have tried to talk to someone at the company and continue to be passed from one person to another. My last contact with the company was on 4/17/15 when I spoke with Judy Chandler. She told me the person I need to speak to, E[redacted], was out of the office but that she would call me the following Monday. I have not heard from them since, other than today receiving a voicemail message and letter from an attorney threatening to put my account in collections. I feel that this company basically baited and switched as well as falsified the quality and quantity of the distribution points at the individual location. In addition, they do not make themselves available to discuss the situation. The Market Basket I was told would be the distribution point is a new store and is still fully open and operational.Desired Settlement: I am requesting to be let out of the remainder of the contract and am requesting my money back, a $199 payment and $268 payment.

Review: Healthy Happy Living advertising company has not fulfill the contract agreement we signed back in December 2014. Healthy and Happy Living did not and has not provided any material such as the bi-monthy magazine to any stores that contract mention. Regarding the TV advertisement commercial promoting our business, has not been aired according to the contract. We consider that this company is a fiasco. As a new business owner, I want my money back for the service that I payed and I did not received. Respectfully,[redacted][email protected]###-###-####Desired Settlement: This will serve as our first notice in order to received a full refund of $1000.00 for the service not provided. This is the amount our business payed to Healthy Happy Living for our advertisement.

Review: Mr [redacted] called on our business on 5/28/2013 wanting to sell us advertising in a magazine called Healthy & Happy Living. He said these magazines were going to be distributed at the 2 local Stop & Shop grocery stores in our town, Stamford, CT. He said the magazines would be at the cash registers and every customer would get one in their shopping bags to take home and read. That is why I signed up for this advertising. I shop at the local Stop & Shop and know there are at least a dozen cash registers and volumes of people that shop there. I thought it would be great exposure for our business. The reality is these magazines are not distributed at the cash registers as we were told, they are on a rack with other free magazines at a random place in the store. Our ad offers a savings coupon for people to bring in and not one person has come in from this advertisement. We were also told that we would be in 2 Stop & Shop stores in Stamford but the truth is the other Stop & Shop store that carries the magazine is in Greenwich, which is the next town over and several miles away. My complaint is one of fraud. When I try to tell Healthy & Happy Living about this, they tell me to read my contract. My point is their salesman is walking into businesses and saying whatever he wants to get them to sign up for the advertisement and in the fine print it is entirely different. I filed a complaint with American Express and Khloe Harris the customer service person for H&HL said I have "buyer's remorse" which is hardly the truth. She also said "the ads are out and benefiting this customer's business". That is false. We have not received one client from this advertisement because no one is seeing it in the store. They are not being passed out like promised. If he had come in and said the magazine would be found on a rack in the grocery store I would never have signed up for this. I signed up because I was told they were going to be distributed at the registers and placed in shopping bags.Desired Settlement: I would like a complete refund of $1508.00 which is what I have paid. Their salesperson is making false promises.

Review: A sales rep seeking to discuss an opportunity to get involved with their publication contacted me. He said they had limited spots and I would have exclusivity. This was the only truthful thing he said. He then told me my advertisement would be displayed in their magazine which would then be put into every shopping bag at both Stop and Shop grocery stores in town. I qualified this claim several times and each time he assured me this was the process. He further explained that in addition to the magazine ad an 8 second ad would run on a number of popular cable t.v channels displaying my logo with an accompanying voice over commercial. The ad was to run for three months. I came to find out that the magazines were not put into the shopping bags, but displayed in a hard to see rack in a crowded corner of the store. In addition my t.v ad never ran. Ultimately the rep came in and said whatever he thought he needed to in order to get the business. He surrendered his limited dignity for a few bucks. Shameless. I contacted the company several times and when they finally decided to get back to me they, of course, blamed me. According to their contract they have no affiliation with the Stop and Shop stores. As I saw that in the contract I couldn't possibly interpret that to mean anything more than if a shopper dislikes the magazine for any reason Stop and Shop didn't have to handle the complaints. With that one sentence in the contract the rep was free to say whatever he needed to without any repercussion in order to get the business. The company, of course, takes absolutely no responsibility for the lies from their reps.Desired Settlement: I simply want a refund, nothing more. I suspect they have made this a practice and over time have perfected their con on a lot of small business owners. The company should be held accountable so hard working business owners aren't deliberately deceived by account reps with no moral barometers.

Review: Per our contract, Health & Happy Magazine suppose to advertise my business, "Manij, the professional costume maker" in local stores starting Jan 2014 for the entire year of 2014.

I have been to Ralph's at E Thousand Oaks and Grison at Westlake Village so many times since February 2014 and haven't seen the Health & Happy Magazine. When I finally talked to the store managers, I realized that The Health & Happy Living magazine is not authorized to be distributed in their store.Desired Settlement: I would like to have my money back which is total of $423.67 ($199.00 initial + 1 payments of $224.67).

Review: I signed on for advertising with the promise of cancellation within 72 hrs. by phone. I decided to cancel the contract the next day and called. I got a machine & left a message (4-10-13) I called $-11-13 & 4-12-13. No one even answered but I left messages. My business partner sent them a fax cancelling within the 72 hrs. We have sent num emails and have called for three months. No one answers or calls back. We are getting past due bills. We need help! Is this a scam?Desired Settlement: I would like this dunning stop. I cancelled within the time limit and I do not want to receive any more bills.
