Review: Paid in advance $5300.00 - for new Upper and lower denture. I was told the entire process would be done before the end of May. Which was important to me because it my daughters wedding was at the end of the month. I had a temporary Upper & lower made the lower I have and am using even though it is causing pain and some sores still. The upper never fit and has never been remade, I am currently still using my old denture.I had several appointments in June to re-make the dentures and for fittings and color choices etc. then everything came to a halt.In July the office closed for the entire month, due to medical issues of the dentist. I have talked with the receptionist on a few occasions and was assured the office would re-open on August 1st. I called and set an appointment for August 2nd at 3pm. Arrived at the office and no one was at the office. Since then I have called and left multiple messages and have not gotten a return call.I just want to get a refund and go to a new reliable dentist to finish the procedure.Desired Settlement: Refund the $5300.00 for the new dentures which I have not received. If I cannot get things resolved through this avenue I will proceed to file a lawsuit at which time I will be request pain and suffering and emotional distress.

Review: This dental practice is not professional, using foul language when something goes wrong. I have had to go back numerous times due to her mistakes.

I needed a root canal on my front tooth due to trauma from 10 years ago. She was to perform a root canal, prep the tooth next to it, and put two veneers on them. This was all paid for in advanced. I went in on July 31st for my appointment at 1:00pm. My work did not start until 2pm and I was there until 4:30pm. As I finally got into a room, she told me she just got back from a 2 week vacation and was not feeling well and kept leaving the room to take breaks and to go deal with other patients. Within this visit, she prepped my tooth for the root canal, shaved both my teeth down, and her assistant gave me temporary caps. On Sunday August 4th, my temporary caps fell out of my mouth as I was swishing water around. When I saw my tooth that had been prepped for the root, I saw it had turned brown around the gum line. This was not there on the day she had shaved my teeth down. I emailed her on August 5th and she replied stating "Don't worry It is supposed to be that color." I went back into the office on August 9th because I didn't want to wait until August 19th to have the veneers put on. She said she was able to accommodate me and to come in between 3 and 4pm. I got to the dental office at 3:30pm that day. Throughout my visit she gave me 7+ shots of anesthetic stating "you denumb so fast". I truly believe I denumb at a normal rate but the fact that she kept jumping around the office to different patients and left me sitting there 10-15 minutes at a time that the anesthetic wore off due to how long she was taking. Towards the end the pain was unbearable as she was sticking small metal rods up into my root, I could feel it. While my root canal tooth had a piece of metal sticking out of it, she decided to put on my other veneer since the assistant was busy taking another patient's x-rays and she didn't want to wait for her to come back. She stuck my veneer on and it was crooked. I was unable to close my mouth without it sticking out and hitting my lips. She completed the root canal and put on my other veneer. She then tried to take the crooked veneer off with a "jujube" and when she couldn't, she had to saw it off. When I asked her about the crooked one, she responded with "[redacted] happens". A very non-professional response that I found offensive. that same appointment went until 5:30/6pm and her assistant the whole time kept making me feel like she didn't want me to be there, stating "I'm supposed to pick my kid up in 15 minutes, guess that's not happening anymore." or "I didn't even know you were coming in today, when did this happen?" On August 11th I called the endodontist because my top lip had swelled up. She said it could be due to an infection, or I am allergic to penicillin. She switched me to another antibiotic after I looked up a pharmacy for her since she didn't have a phone #. It was filled at Wallgreens and since I belong to Kaiser I had to have them transfer the prescription. It is now August 12th and I went in this morning because the veneer she put on is loose and she said that isn't normal. Upon checking out the veneer, she said it too was incorrectly put on and needs to be removed and redone. She then went on to tell me that I should have waited until my original scheduled apt to get the work finished. I asked her why she agreed to see me on August 9th if her professional opinion was to wait longer. She said she was trying to please me and was doing too many things at once, also mentioning that I am young and want things done right away, as if to make it seem like this is all my fault because I pressured her into doing it. She is the professional and if she believes I need to wait then she should have said that. All in all, I do not trust her to work on my mouth again. I would like a refund. I have missed a lot of work, have been unable to eat regularly, and have endured a lot of pain because of her mishaps. I feel as if she does not have good business practices and I wish to go somewhere else to fix her mistakes.Desired Settlement: I wish to receive a full refund for the incomplete work - it is a total of $4,000 that was paid with a money order made out to her name (not her business). Her practices are not professional, she uses foul language, overbooks her patients causing the visit to be 3 times longer than it should be, and her lack of focus has caused me a lot of pain.

Mrs. [redacted] came to our office on an emergency case.

Her tooth #5 was hurting her. We did a root canal and crown for that tooth.

She also needed a root canal & crown on #9, veneer on #8.

We finished the work needed on this patient.

Patient had large roots due to her age & things more healing time.

Patient wants money back after work is finished. Her own doctors have had the same diagnosis as our office.

Our staff is professional and we have done everything in our power to accommodate this patient.

We have answered all her emails and messages and helped her through out.

The staff and I feel sorry the patient feels this way, but we have done all that is required for her treatment in a positive and professional manner.

Review: I was charged $2200.00 for a Valplast(no metal) partial dental plate and ended up with an $800.00.basemetal partial dental plate.

On November 20 2012 My wife and I went to see this dentist about fixing her broken dental plate. We were told it was not repairable and they gave us some choice for a new plate.A basemetal plate (which you will see metal in your mouth)and a Valplast dental plate which has no metal. The base metal plate was quoted at $800.00 and the Valplast was quoted at $2200.00.My wife chose the one that would not show metal for $2200.00.An impression was taken and the ball supposedly started rolling 3 months went by and we called to see where her order was .The receptionist dropped the ball and never sent it in.So now they send it in.Another 3 months go by and we get a call the plate is in.We go down there and the plate does not fit properly and is cutting her gums.We made numerous trips for adjustments(too many to count)and her plate still will not fit properly. The dentist([redacted] then states that this plate will not work with her even sending this plate back to the lab for further evaluation and repairs.Needless to say we had no choice but to accept the metal plate that we didn't want to begin with. After 10 months of my wife not having her teeth the metal plate finally comes in.It actually fit although when she eats multiple amounts of food goes underneath these teeth .During this whole process I asked the dentist for a "designated record set" and was aware she had 10 days to get this to me. To no avail.I still have not gotten this set of records.I have a signed statement by her that these would be made available signed April/29/2013.I have asked for a partial refund for these substandard teeth that we never really wanted and she denied this request.I have sent two emails with no response.Thank you for your time.I just want justice as I am paying for premium dentures that I cannot use and she will not adjust my bill accordinglyDesired Settlement: I believe a refund is due in the amount of the two different sets of teeth.($1400.00)It would only be fair to not charge me the price of the teeth I could never wear or she could never get to fit.The dentist should be accountable for all work done whether it be substandard work or not.Obviously something went wrong when making the mold as the basemetal tooth mold seemed to work.I believe the first set of dentures was shotty work and I should not be charged for the teeth we could not use.In my humble opinion,A refund is largely due.Maybe even punitive damages for gouging prices.

We have put all our effort and time to give our patient the best product.

This patient has had Stayplates in her mouth that were broken.

We suggested a Valplast Partial due to the missing front teeth.

We have already taken all steps such as, Wax bite, Try in with Teeth.

We then received a letter from Patient that she is happy with the size & shape of her partial.

She wore the partial for Four months and except for normal adjustments, she has had no complaints.

Patient came in for a crown on # 3 , we sent partial three times to lab and after it was all finished we made her a brand new partial of metal cast partial, which is the same cost as the Valplast . At 2,200.00

Therefore I was out the cost for the new one.

My staff and I feel we have gone above and beyond to make [redacted] Happy.

Final Consumer Response

(The consumer indicated he/she DID NOT accept the response from the business.)

I have been to another dentist and got a quote on these two different denture plates and there is a considerable difference in the price I was charged and the price of the metal cast plate. At first visit to Dr [redacted] office(aka [redacted])I was quoted $800.00 for the price of the metal based plate and $2200.00 for the Valplast plate. My wife did not want any metal showing and wanted the Valplast. This Dr.[redacted] AND her assistant [redacted] did numerous adjustments to try and make this plate fit and could not do so due to either a faulty cast being taken or a new supplier that she had mentioned was the first time using this lab.I know she used two different labs to finally get a partial that would fit.We ended up SETTLING for the cheaper plate. You can call ANY dentist and find out that there is a considerable difference in these two items. Not to mention that this Dr [redacted] is practicing business in the State of California without a current business license #XXXXX.It has been expired since May 31st of 2013.She has committed an illegal act just by treating my wife without a business license.I have reported this as well.I never sent a letter to them telling them that I was happy with their work and neither has my wife. If they can produce ANY such letter I would like to see and prove it to be a fraud. The only thing my wife signed was a statement to proceed with the NEW metal plate, that was fitting better than the Valplast. We were still charged the price of the Valplast plate. This dentist is not only a liar she is committing an illegal act just by PRACTICING on any patients. My wife in going in for a root canal in the morning to [redacted] Dental In Roseville California to repair a tooth That Dr [redacted] filled a packed against a nerve to create an abscess in her tooth.I requested from Dr [redacted] a designated record set for the work done AND have a signed statement as to produce said records and have yet to receive anything.I believe by California State law,she had 10 days to produce those to me (which was in April of 2013 ). I believe the public is in danger due to malpractice and this should be addressed properly.Dr [redacted] needs to be reprimanded just for practicing on patients without the proper verifications. You can go to the website www.dba.ca.gov and verify said business license #XXXXX has been in default since May 2013.

Final Business Response

MR [redacted]

You are a disgrace to society and a lier ,

1- THIS IS MY CURRENT LICENSE ,AND I HAVE ALWAYS HAD A CURRENT LICENSE ,WHO THE [redacted]

DO YOU THINK YOU ARE TO ACCUSE ME OF FRAUD ,I CAN SUE YOU FOR THAT.I AM A GRADUATE OF UCSF SCHOOL OF DENTISTRY RANKED NUMBER ONE .GRADUATE WITH HONORS

2- YOUR WIFE HAS A LOT OF ISSUES WITH HER DENTITION, IF SHE NEEDS RCT IS BECAUSE OF HER

OWN SITUATION .NOT THE DENTIST ,I DID TWO BUCCAL FILLING ON HER MOUTH FOR FREE OUT

OF THE GOODNESS OF MY HEART WHICH I SHOULD NOT HAVE.

3- AS FAR AS THE PARTIAL IS CONCERNED ,YOU ARE LIERS AND MANIPPULATIVE PEOPLE ,

WE HAVE MADE YOU TWO SETS OF VALFLAST PARTIAL S WHICH YOUR WIFE KEPT WITH HER FOR

SEVERAL MONTHS AND STILL HAS THEM ,THE LAB HAS CHARGED US ALREADY 2000 DOLLAR FOR

THOSE ALREADY PAID AND WILL NOT REFUND ,THEN ANTOTHER FULL CAST METAL PARTIAL WHICH

IS ACTUALLY 2000 DOLLARS PLUS LAB FEES OF 450 DOLLARS ,I AM SORRY BUT YOU PEOPLE CAME IN

HERE WITH A BROKEN STAYPLATE THAT WAS IN YOUR WIFES MOUTH FOR 10 YEARS AND DEFENTLY

SU8 STANDARD OF CARE ,WHICH YOU SAID YOU PAID 1500 FOR, SO HOW COULD A FULL CAST METAL FRAME BE AT THIS PRICE.

Our experience with Dr [redacted] has been a disaster at best. She began work on my husbands dentures in Nov 2015 and they are still unusable. The insurance was messed up from the start and we don't even know what we are paying for. We've requested printout of services and charges twice now but haven't received them yet. Office staff constantly turns over and it is total chaos in that office. Dr tends to blame patient for "problems". We are forced to find another dentist to pick up this mess so my husband can actually use his teeth again!
