I made am appointment with the dentist to have a small crack in my front tooth filled.. The dentist was adamant that it could not be repaired without a crown . He wouldn't even fix it temporarily so I could return to work .. The tooth was cutting my lip and he did not seem to care . He referred me to speak with a finance officer in the office . I told him I had to have it repaired temporarily and he informed me it couldn't be done without a crown.. I left the office and called a local dentist who had me come right into the office and repaired the tooth quickly and without any medication . I was extremely upset that I was informed it could only be repaired with a crown and that was not true. I then received a bill for his services .( I'm sure he wouldn't have billed me if I scheduled a crown ) I called their office and informed the staff that I would not return for any further dental work at their office and set up a payment plan for his services . I have since transferred my care

Upon his arrival he presented a discount plan card for [redacted]. Saturdays, eligibility cannot be verified, therefore originally quoted fees were used for this date. Monday insurance eligibility was verified, and conversation with [redacted] was relayed that the proper credit of $94.00 was adjusted on his account. During conversation with [redacted] he was confused about why we charged for a "build up." I explained to him that the tooth had been broken and therefore placement of the build up was necessary to properly support the crown. I mailed copies of xrays to the patient. 1st showing the tooth (#5) intact from several years ago. Then a 2nd current xray showing the break and loss of structure. As well as a copy of the ADA Guidelines for the build up. Proper credit was given and all treatment was properly performed. I will be more than happy to explain to him again all the charges and procedures should he have any further questions. Final Consumer Response (The consumer indicated he/she DID NOT accept the response from the business.)Would accept an additional $185.00, but have not received that; my reply to them has been through postal mail and expect the same from them, since they have not used the telephone as promised in the past.Final Business Response [redacted] has been a patient of ours since 2006. We value our patients and have reached out to him with a proposal of refund to his disputed charge for service performed. A refund of $279.00. This includes the contract discount of $94. plus a full refund of $185 which is the Build Up charge he is disputing. We have attempted to contact [redacted] via telephone, and have not received a return call, as yet.
