Heaney Real Estate & Construction Services LLC Reviews (3)

As I was going through some of the information on this complaint I found pictures that thought may be of assistance of how [redacted] Real Estate & Construction did our project. First picture is how he left the tile around the door, the wood was to be cut to fit the tile in. Second picture he tiled in the air duct register, third picture he actually put thin set on the carpet strip which he was told that the carpet was being replaced with wood flooring. That is why the original estimate changed. As you can see from the picture he did not go even half way into the door way with the tile as it should have been.We never received an updated estimate with the design change either.Thank you[redacted]

Per our phone conversation just a little bit ago...here is a copy of our check that cleared our account on 6/23/2015.The statement the Mr. [redacted] made in his statement that he did not cash the check until 7/22/2015 is not correct! If you need an actual copy of the bank statement showing the date the funds were taken out of our account please let me know I can supply that also.Thank you for your assistance in the matter!

Revdex.com:
I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID [redacted], and have determined that this does not resolve my complaint.  For your reference, details of the offer I reviewed appear below.[To assist us in bringing this matter to a close, we would like to know your view on the matter.]If the contractor has been in business for 10 years then: 1. He should have made a phone call the day we were not there to answer questions about the shower instead of leaving a note and leaving! We were told by the contractor he was working until noon and we arrived at our home at 10:37 a.m. and he was gone!2. He should respect the homeowner's wishes and when is asked if he will do something he should be knowledgeable enough to do the task or admit he does not know how to do what is asked.3. He should know the difference in materials he is working with and not rely on second hand information because as seen in this case the second hand informationwas not correct!4. When a professional plumber comes into a home and has done his work, it gets to be costly for the home owner when a contractor undoes said work.5. He was treated with respect until he started yelling at the homeowner wanting to meet with the plumber!  When the contractor accepted this project we the homeownerswere told he does not do plumbing and "will have nothing to do with the plumbing" that is why we hired a state licensed plumber not a homeowner as stated by Mr. [redacted].6. If the contractor is truly a contractor I have requested a copy of his business insurance. Is not received as of yet.7. Our time with this contractor was wasted and we should be compensated for the money's he kept that resulted in redoing the same room!    as a homeowner this contractor should also have a license.  If licensed then should have insurance... still waiting for the proof of insurance.
Regards,
[redacted]

I have attached copies...

of the emails between [redacted], and I. I have also attached a copy of the signed Estimate by [redacted].
My response to [redacted]s claim are as follows:
1. I communicated to [redacted] and [redacted] on the day the estimate was accepted (6/12/15) That I would not be able to perform the work until late July-August. I also asked if they were comfortable sending a check for 50% and the signed contract at their earliest convenience. I received their check and signed estimate on 7/15/15, and didn't deposit the check until 7/22/15.
2. I received a phone call from [redacted] on 7/20/15 at 5:26 PM, in which I returned her call on 7/21/15 at 10:04 AM; to discuss details and a start date. I explained that I had a few more customers ahead of her, and would be contacting her at the end of the week with an update. Which was done.
3. We had set a start date of 8/4/15, which on 7/30/15 She confirmed, then asked if we could push to Thursday 8/6/15. The project started on 8/6/15, and my understanding at the end of the first work day was everything was looking good, and they were excited to see the work being done. [redacted] asked if I could cut a hole in the floor for the "Plumber" so he could install the shower base. I was ok doing so, and said that would be fine. This was a verbal agreement.
4. [redacted], and I discussed on 8/6/15 that they were going to be gone the next morning, and should be back by late morning. I told them that I was going to be leaving early for a prior engagement. They were fine with this, and honestly were not even ready for me to move forward with the rest of the project.
5. 8/7/15: I grouted the tile which I had set the day before and cleaned up. Went to see if I could cut the hole in the floor for the "Plumber", but when I set the base down went to mark the precise location of the hole I realized the shower head was way off. I left the shower pan where it would be installed, with the drain removed so they could see it. I left a note to call me to discuss.
I have been working in construction for over 10 years, and I am a license contractor, and this plumbing job looked to be done by the home owner. Also, I consulted with my Master Plumber, and he said there was no reason the drain needed to be set, in which they had just plumber puttied the drain. The drain would need to be removed prior to connecting it to the main before setting it.
6. [redacted] called me on 8/7/15 at 10:47AM, where she was extremely rude and unreasonable about the shower drain. Some of the things she said was: "I told you to cut a hole in the floor, and you do what I say". "I don't need to tell you when the plumbers coming, it's none of your business".  I was in my truck during this conversation, and even turned around to head back to their house to resolve this issue. [redacted] told me her husband was so mad that it wasn't a good idea to come back. then she hung up on me.
To summarize this whole ordeal, I was let go of a project for no good or understandable reason. I was not treated fairly as a contractor and as a person. I never once said I was going to keep their money, and it was going to be returned. [redacted] fired off a emotion filled complaint to the Revdex.com only 3 days after she kicked me off the project. In which I was communicating with her as she sent emails.
Last week [redacted] emailed me about the underlayment used under the tile. After discussing this with the Lumber yard, they realized that I was given the wrong product to use, and they agreed to contact to take care of the problem. They are now removing and replacing the tile and underlayment in the bathroom.
If you read her final email sent on 8/26/15, this will paint a perfect picture of the type of people [redacted] and [redacted] are. This is absolutely ridiculous and immature. I have been called names, and now have to take the time to justify myself. I don't understand how these types of consumers even have a chance to vocalize false information, and put good reputable contractors at jeopardy of having a tarnished name.
I hope that my emails, documentation, and explanation have helped you move this process forward to a closing. Please let me know if there is any further information needed from my end.
Thank you,
[redacted]
